TMS is on air once again this morning.

Jimmy Anderson is part of the commentary team. Spending this series with the TMS team is clearly doing some strange things to him.

Here's Jimmy as you've never seen him before...

Australia captain Steve Smith on the new Perth Stadium: "It is new to us all. That is the reason for bowling, have a look and see what it does.

"It looks magnificent and has been a long time coming. It is great to be playing the first game here. It will be a fantastic atmosphere with all the people in Perth coming out to watch."

So Glenn Maxwell is back for Australia today. He's a player the England fan in me has always feared but Steve Smith had some strong words for him not long ago.

"I think he could train a little bit smarter," Smith said.

"If he keeps his head switched on and trains really well and focuses on basic things probably more than the expansive things then I think that will help him have his consistency."

It'll be interesting to see how he goes today.

    James Taylor
Ex-England batsman on Test Match Special

I've never seen a pitch like this in international cricket, it's got 8mm of grass on it and that's a lot but it's kind of brown grass all compacted, with green grass around the cracks, so you'd imagine it would zip through off there. It may be a bit two-paced. I'm intrigued to see what this pitch does.

    BBC Test Match Special

Australia captain Steve Smith: "We don't know what the pitch will do. We'll have a look at it and hopefully take a few early wickets like we did the other day."

England captain Eoin Morgan: "I would have bowled first too. Nobody knows what it will do, it's going to be unpredictable - but I suppose that makes it exciting. Our changes are more precautionary. We've rested Chris Woakes and Mark Wood because we had a three-hour flight and then a two-hour bus ride yesterday."

  6. Two changes for both teamspublished at 03:05 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2018

Australia's two changes see their side, or at least their batting, significantly strengthened in my view. Mitchell Starc returns after being rested while the mercurial Glenn Maxwell plays for the first time this series. Cameron White and Pat Cummins drop out.

England have made two precautionary changes. Bowlers Mark Wood and Chris Woakes have been rested. Jake Ball and David Willey come in.

  7. Australia win the tosspublished at 03:00 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2018

Steve Smith has won the toss for Australia and has decided to bowl first.

That's no surprise after England's troubles batting first in the last match - they were 8-5 remember - and the fact that this is a pitch never played on before.

There are a couple of changes to either side too...

For nearly 50 years England have arrived in Perth with the Waca their eventual destination but that is no more.

All eyes are on the new Perth Stadium today. It's a massive, Gabba or MCG-like bowl which will be sold out today with 55,000 people in attendance.

It'll be another drop in pitch too with this ground shared between cricket and Perth's Aussie Rules sides. It'll be really interesting to see how this pitch plays. Maybe not the same Waca bounce?

Hello there! This tour down under just keeps chugging along. Today is the final one-day international in this five-match series.

As England captain and with the series score already 3-1, Eoin Morgan will be lifting the series trophy at the end of today's match but you don't want to be doing that after a defeat.

Also this match is the first international at the new 55,000-seater Perth Stadium. What better way for an England team to mark the occasion than to hand out another thrashing?

Baking hot temperatures. Thrashing after thrashing. Ashes series defeat after Ashes series defeat.

There never was much to like about the WACA as an England cricketer.

Today gives England a chance to mark the Aussies' new stadium in the perfect way possible...
