  1. 6 runs

    Aus 154-4published at 28 overs

    Need 106 from 132 balls

That awkward shadow has now passed beyond the batting strip and almost two thirds of this ground is now in shade. Moeen needs to make up for that fielding mishap.

Ah. There's not too much wrong with this but the off-spinner has been launched into the stands by Glenn Maxwell. 'I feel good' is belting out of the sound system. Maxwell certainly will be after that shot.

    Target 260

Oh Moeen, Moeen, Moeen. England's loveable all-rounder goes from the sublime to the quite frankly terrible.

Maxwell knocks the ball to him at deep extra cover and Moeen rushes in, goes for the one-handed pick-up but misses the ball. It runs away for four and the crowd love it. I wouldn't want to be Moeen stood on that boundary rope right now.

Jake Ball, meanwhile, takes a hack at the turf with his boot.

You'll see replays of that Moeen Ali catch for years to come. It was a pleasure to see it.

  4. Aus 138-4published at 26 overs

Marcus Stoinis is a well built man with big shoulders and a powerful upper body but he shows nice touch to dab a reverse sweep for two. Still, it's only three from Moeen's latest over and England continue their squeeze.

Umpire Chris Gaffaney is having a chuckle with Moeen at the end of the over. Hopefully he's still thanking him for saving his teeth.

I like this from Eoin Morgan - there's a big shadow on the pitch and he's brought Jake Ball back to bowl into it.

  7. Aus 135-4published at 25 overs

    Need 125 from 150 balls

Glenn Maxwell has now joined Marcus Stoinis in the middle with a really awkward shadow now across the pitch. Due to the shape of this roof there are 10 or so fingers of shade spreading across the batting strip. Jake Ball returns, perhaps to bowl into those shaded patches, and bowls well. Just two from the over. Jake Ball is really impressing here.

  8. Aus 133-4published at 24 overs

The catch gets better every time you see it. The umpire was sprawled out on the floor, protecting his face. He thought he was going to be wiped out.

Moeen actually took the ball behind him between thumb and forefinger.

It has just like a brilliant catch all-rounder Jofra Archer took in the Big Bash a few weeks ago. You can read more on Archer here. Sorry for the plug ;).

That is a phenomenal catch - it's as good a caught and bowled as you'll see from a spinner. He caught it between his thumb and index finger.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 23.5 overs

    Marsh c&b Moeen 13 (Aus 133-4)

Oh my word. What. A. Grab.

Moeen can't believe it. Eoin Morgan can't believe it. Mitchell Marsh can't believe it.

Marsh has hammered the ball back at Moeen and the England spinner has just stuck up his right hand above his head and snatched the ball out of the air. A sensational catch.

  12. Aus 131-3published at 23.1 overs

Marsh goes hard again and is rewarded again. This one is in the air through point but it's not in reach of a fielder and the ball spins down to the boundary. Danger for England here.

Mitchell Marsh hits the ball as hard as anybody in world cricket, it's phenomenal those levers he has.

  14. Aus 127-3published at 23 overs

Need 133 runs from 162 balls

Bang. These two can seriously strike a cricket ball. First Marsh blasts one into the covers which stings the palms of Jason Roy and then he cracks one down the ground for four. It's so difficult for the spinner to defend these short straight boundaries.

This was around the time England started losing wickets and if they can keep chipping away they have a really good chance of putting Australia under pressure.

  16. Aus 120-3published at 22 overs

Need 140 to win from 28 overs

Three runs and a wicket for Moeen Ali in that over. Steve Smith ends this series without a half century and a top score of 45.

Mitchell Marsh is the new batsman and the local man gets a huge ovation.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 23.3 overs

Smith st Buttler b Moeen 12 (Aus 119-3)

The end of a wretched innings from Steve Smith, reminiscent of his early career. He plays down the wrong line and misses a Moeen Ali delivery as he steps towards the spinner. The ball continues into the gloves of Jos Buttler who takes the bails off smartly and Smith is way out.

He goes for 12 from 23 balls.
