Ray Gritt: The dog has just woken me up. She decided she wanted a stretch in the garden at 4:30 in the morning! Oh well, it’s perfect timing, as I can listen to the final session of the winter on TMS!

Five dots for Anderson before De Grandhomme inside edges it to wide fine leg for a single.

I'm so here for Colin de Grandhomme having a strike rate of 96 in Test cricket. Quality.

He's digging in really well here though. James Anderson to bowl at the big man again.

De Grandhomme's strike rate in this match is 45 [runs per 100 balls], compared to 96 going into the game.

  5. NZ 198-6published at 04:46 British Summer Time 3 April 2018

    35 overs left

Broad bangs it short and De Grandhomme takes it on, hooking it down to deep square leg for one.

That brings Sodhi back on strike but he continues to look assured, defending the rest of the over.

England have had opportunities to get both these batsmen out, but they've both been dropped by Mark Stoneman - catches you'd expect to take at Test level.

It's four drops for the innings, after those two from James Vince at third slip, which were more difficult.

  8. NZ 197-6published at 85 overs

    36 overs left

Sodhi is fine to continue soon enough and defends the rest of Anderson's over.

The good news? It's much sunnier at Hagley Oval now than it was just before tea.

The bad? The new ball hasn't swung much at all.

It does get frustrating, this, as it wastes time, but he was struck hard.

It's a sunny day in Christchurch and the light's fine at the moment.

Sodhi was struck on the arm by Broad in the previous over and now asks for the physios to come out for a check up.

  11. NZ 197-6published at 84.3 overs

Sodhi flicks at one that is sliding over leg stump and Bairstow takes the catch.

Brief appeal but not given. That hit Sodhi on the leg.

England have sent their team manager Phil Neale out - he's just beyond the boundary at fine leg. And with no fielder there, I'm pretty sure he's been sent out there to throw the ball back so there's no time wasted. Moeen Ali is similarly placed at third man, and they've got Craig Overton and someone else at the other end.

  13. NZ 196-6published at 84 overs

    De Grandhomme 27, Sodhi 21

Broad strays down leg and Sodhi flicks it fine for four.

Oooh! Sodhi chops down on one and it deflects off his pads just away from the stumps.

Ouch! Broad goes short and hits Sodhi on the forearm as the Kiwi tries to duck under it.

    Stuart Broad is back.

Two wickets in two balls to start day five.

    Can he make the breakthrough?

We were concerned before tea about a build-up of cloud, which has now dissipated.

Graeme Swann was worried earlier that we might only get 15 or 16 overs - I think we'll get two more hours, but it might be nip and tuck after that.

Andrew Samson adds: The latest we've played in this Test was 5.46pm (06:46 BST) on the third day, which was quite sunny.

Sodhi gets the first run after tea as he clips off his pads for one.

  17. NZ 191-6published at 82.2 overs

Anderson zips one past Sodhi's outside edge with a bit of nip off the pitch.

Bairstow goes up in appeal but nothing doing.

    Promising sign though.
