Azhar is a better player than that. You have to play with a straight bat. A player of his class, playing across the line, really frustrates you.

New man Haris Sohail gets off the mark with an unconvincing chip into the leg side.
I think Azhar Ali should try to avoid Waqar Younis after the close of play.

It was about his time last week that Anderson was bowling Azhar Ali at Lord's. And now he's done it again! Waqar Younis is very frustrated at the side of me.

Matt Lawton: Furniture everywhere! Middle stump gone! Nice one Jimmy!
For what it's worth, replays show Azhar didn't hit that one that Bairstow caught the ball before and it wouldn't have been out lbw.
Not that that reprieve is worth much when your middle stump goes flying the next ball.

That's a horrible stroke. You're a Test opener! That's not on. It's a half volley and you could easily have hit it back at the bowler. What a delivery from a pumped-up Anderson.

Azhar's poor tour is over. That was emphatic from Anderson.
Azhar b Anderson 11 (Pak 20-1)
Well you don't need to think about reviewing this one.
James Anderson pushes it full, straight and through Azhar Ali's attempted flick across the line, castling the stumps.
A huge roar from the Lancashire man and England have their early breakthrough.
Oooh. James Anderson swings it back into the pads of Azhar Ali and as England appeal for the lbw, Jonny Bairstow also completes a fine catch behind.
Bairstow is very keen, if not for the lbw, then the catch.
Joe Root is not so sure and decides not to review.
That is utterly brilliant from Andrew Samson. Time well spent.

Why on earth have you spent an hour of your life looking that ridiculous thing up?

I think I've finally figured out players who were dismissed for their age on their birthday.
I reckon there's two: Sam Curran today, dismissed for 20 on his 20th birthday, and Geoff Pullar, who on his 26th birthday, scored 26 for England against Australia.
Pullar was nicknamed Noddy because he was once discovered watching it on TV in the dressing room.
Azhar 11, Imam 4
Broad tormented Imam a tad in that first over but the Pakistan opener responds here with a confident drive down the ground for four. It was full, straight and asking to be hit but he needs to be careful not to play that shot to the wrong ball.
Replays show it hit Azhar outside the line and was going over the stumps. Not the ball to be playing no shot to though.

That was pretty straight to be padding up to.

Gorgeous stuff from Azhar, punching Anderson straight down the ground for four.
The Lancashire man responds by fizzing a swinging delivery just past the outside edge.
Oh, Anderson then gets the last ball to dart back in and Azhar shoulders arms as it hits the pads.
Big appeal but not given. England deliberate but decide against the review.

He's trying to find out if any other players have got out on their birthday for the age they're turning... (Sam Curran was out for 20 on his 20th birthday).

A Pakistan fan has just asked me if I know where the cash point is. I must look like a steward. I didn't know. I feel like I've let him down.
Wonderful start from Stuart Broad, beating the outside edge of Imam ul-Haq's bat with a couple of pearlers.
Oh dear, that's a ropey drive from Imam, playing way out in front of his body and getting nowhere near it. Broad has a few words with the Pakistan opener, something along the lines of: "No, you don't do that."
Imam leaves the last alone. Broad starts with a maiden.
