Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed: "It was the right decision to win the toss and bat first but England's bowlers performed very well in the first two hours on the first morning. It meant we couldn't capitalise on a good batting track. We weren't as disciplined as we were at Lord's and our batting wasn't up to the mark. We have a very young side who is still learning. I'm proud of my team, the way we played at Malahide and Lord's."

The intent has been there from the beginning for England in this Test. They were able to get the best of the conditions and made the most of it. Ever since then they've been ahead in the game.

Jos Buttler speaking to Sky Sports: "It is great to be back, a great opportunity and I wanted to make the most of it.

"This pitch kept bowlers interested and batters always felt a wicket could go any time.

"This performance showed what this side is capable of after a difficult week at Lords.

"I did enjoy being able to slog a few out there but it is all about trying to play situations.

"I am lucky I guess, for someone to take a punt on me and say there is a Test player in there somewhere despite not playing county cricket gives me great confidence."

England captain Joe Root, speaking to Test Match Special: "That's the approach we want to take as a side going forward. We can't just use this to paper over cracks, we've got a lot of hard work ahead.

"It's been an enjoyable week, really pleasing to show a lot of character after the disappointment at Lord's.

"I don't think it was for lack of effort at Lord's, it was coming off a tough winter, low on confidence. This was a chance to show how good and skillful we are in our own conditions, we've got to show how good we are as a side moving forward."

The man of the series is Pakistan bowler Mohammad Abbas, who is the series' leading wicket taker with 10 wickets at 14.2.

If Jos Buttler sticks in the Test team, they may look to play around with his position in the batting order, depending on the situation in the match.

But from how he played today I think he's going to be really brilliant for England going forward in Test cricket. It looks like a very smart pick by Ed Smith.

For his swashbuckling innings, and being England's top scorer, Jos Buttler is man of the match.

Pakistan should be pleased about how they did in this series with a young side. Shadab Khan in particular looks a real find.

Bess has had a really good Test in all departments - 49 with the bat, and a spectacular catch in the field.

Dom Bess has been a breath of fresh air in this side. But I still feel like Jack Leach is an out-and-out spinner who can bowl in different conditions and I would go back to him, especially if you have Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes fit and in the team to keep the balance.

Maybe Bess could get a few more revolutions on the ball but he was fairly consistent. He's got a good pace for a spinner but if he's not turning it then India will be more than confident knocking him around.

I've very much enjoyed Pakistan, both in the series against England and in the Test again Ireland at Malahide.

They're a young team, they have a good captain in Sarfraz and, let's face it, they out thought and outperformed England down at Lord's.

Chris H: It's been a fantastic team performance from England, every player has stuck their hand up and made a positive contribution. I can't remember the last time that the talk after a Test didn't involve who deserves dropping for the next game.

The frustration will be that England didn't produce anything like this at Lord's. This win was essential though before the five-match series against India late this year. We could've done with a decider in this series.

We'll be hearing from the captains and the man of the match and man of the series very shortly.

I imagine Joe Root will be much chirpier than he was at Lord's a week ago.

What's pleasing for England is that pretty much everyone has contributed in some way in Headingley.

    From the returning batsman...

    To the young bowlers...

And a very important hand from the old guard.

Pakistan were not good at Headingley, but they've got some positives to reflect on from this tour.

However, they lasted just 48.1 overs in the first innings, and 46 overs in the second.
