Sam Curran needs more speed but you look at Chaminda Vaas, who was down at 80mph but still effective.
All the talk around him is that he's a batsman who bowls and I can see that. I think he's talented enough to bat in the top six in the future and then his bowling is going to be a real bonus.
There's a brief hold up because Stuart Broad and Joe Root are having a disagreement over which fielder goes where.
Broad swings one past Usman Salahuddin's outside edge after Mohammad Amir nabs a single. We're having an extended session, by the way, which is bad news because I'm starving. Tea should be at about 16:10 BST.

Dom Bess is taking a breather - Stuart Broad is coming back on for a bowl.
A reminder of how Dom Bess took his second Test wicket...
The folks on the Western Terrace are throwing a tennis ball from stand to stand which, I regret to inform you, has just landed on the field.
The steward leaps onto the pitch and promptly confiscates the ball, and gets a round of boos for his troubles. He passes it onto his mate, who then throws the ball back into the crowd!

This young Pakistan team should be happy with a drawn series. It will give them a lot of confidence going forward together so that they can really start getting more consistent.

Mohammad Amir never strikes me as one for hanging around.
He shimmies down the pitch to his third delivery and drives Dom Bess into the air, but it goes on the bounce to the fielder at cover. He tries the same shot to the final ball of the over, and gets the same result.
Dom Bess has 2-20 from his seven overs so far.
He's got a potentially hindered Mohammad Amir to deal with next. Amir was struggling with his shoulder when he was bowling earlier.

You felt he was going to have a go. That's a horrible shot but it's so hard to know how to bat in these circumstances.
Faheem c Malan b Bess 3 (Pak 111-7)
Dearie me, that's a dire shot.
It's another wicket for Dom Bess and it's a nice delivery, the ball just getting a bit of extra dip. However, that's poor from Faheem Ashraf. He goes for the big heave ho, trying to drop Bess into the stands, and instead the ball flies off the top edge and Dawid Malan takes a comfortable catch at backward point.
Another close call for Usman Salahuddin, as he tries to nudge a Sam Currnan delivery down towards third man, and the ball bounces just in front of Joe Root at gully.

Technically, Usman Salahuddin looks the best batsman in this Pakistan line-up, even though he's making his debut. His footwork is very good.
Up in the blockholes from Sam Curran, and Usman Salahuddin stays watchful.
Now then, is that a drop? Salahuddin chases a leggy delivery from Curran and there's a noise, but it's ball on thigh pad, and Jonny Bairstow drops the ball as he lands on the turf.

Dom Bess just got a bit more dip on that one, maybe getting a few more revolutions on it.

Hello! Turn for Dom Bess, the ball somehow sneaking between bat and pad, and Jonny Bairstow can't get glove on ball either.
Faheem Ashraf takes the opportunity to steal a bye.
As Chris Tremlett pointed out on Twitter this morning, Sam Curran was four when James Anderson made his Test debut back in 2003.
I feel old.

This is the youngest bowling partnership England have ever had, given Dom Bess and Tom Curran are the first two players under 21 to appear in the same England Test team.
Sam Curran bustles in and bangs down a yorker, which Usman Salahuddin is wise to and jabs his bat down on the ball at the last second.
A maiden.
