A pretty impressive spell from Adil Rashid. One of the big questions coming into this series for the Australian batting line-up was how they would deal with the middle overs of Rashid and Moeen Ali. They've not coped well at all here.

  2. Aus 206-8published at 44 overs

    Run rate 4.68

Andrew Tye gets down on one knee and sweeps, but makes a meal of the shot and ends up getting a top edge over the head of Joe Root at slip.

It brings him a couple of runs, and that is Adil Rashid's work done for the day. Cracking stuff: he finishes with 10-0-36-2.

Adil Rashid is on to bowl his final over of the day.

Here's how he did for Ashton Agar a few overs ago.

  4. Aus 201-8published at 43 overs

A nice end to the over from Liam Plunkett, mixing up his lengths and his speeds, and Andrew Tye has to stick to defending.

  5. Aus 201-8published at 42.3 overs

    Shot!

Pitched up from Liam Plunkett, and once again, Andrew Tye whacks the ball straight back down the pitch for four. That brings Australia's 200 up.

He's got to go for it, to try and get Australia to 250 somehow. So it's a fair shot but just poor execution.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 42.2 overs

    Neser c Root b Plunkett 6 (Aus 197-8)

As easy as you'd like for England.

Liam Plunkett hammers down a skiddy short ball, Michael Neser has a loose swipe at it, and just lobs teh ball up into the air. Joe Root, casually back pedalling at mid-off, steadies himself and takes the catch.

  8. Aus 197-7published at 42 overs

    Rashid 9-0-31-2

The wrong 'un from Adil Rashid, and it strikes Andrew Tye on the pad as he tries to sweep.

Not out, says the umpire, and Rashid promptly whirls through the rest of the over.

  9. Aus 197-7published at 41.4 overs

    I take it all back!

Andrew Tye is the first Australian batsman to hit a boundary off Adil Rashid in this innings. And it's some shot, too, Tye standing tall and clubbing Rashid back over his head for a one bounce four.

The dip did for Agar. He didn't quite get his hands and his bat in the right position to play that shot. Good bowling by Rashid, who you feel with have a field day against Australia in this series.

Andrew Tye is the new man in.

He's scored 23 runs in his previous four ODIs, and has a highest score of eight...

Ashton Agar was caught out by a looping full ball there, trying to swipe it away.

    Agar lbw b Rashid 40 (Aus 193-7)

    Another one for Adil Rashid!

That looks very, very out to me. Ashton Agar misreads the length as Rashid spears the ball in fuller, and ends up swishing his bat at fresh air. He goes down for the sweep but ends up missing, and the ball hits him on the back pad, right in front of leg stump.

Ben Wire: As someone scarred by England in the 80s and 90s it's confusing to a) be the no.1 side in the world b) lose to Scotland and then c) humiliate Australia the following Wednesday. Just don't know how to act as a fan anymore. Although we haven't batted yet, to be fair.

  15. Aus 193-6published at 41 overs

    Tidy from David Willey.

He goes in full at Michael Neser's toes, and he and Ashton Agar can only work two runs from the over.

  16. Postpublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 13 June 2018

This has been excellent from Adil Rashid. His day's work so far: 8-0-27-1, and he's still not conceded a boundary.

Into the final 10 overs, then. David Willey will continue.

  17. Aus 191-6published at 40 overs

Googly from Adil Rashid, and Michael Neser picks it at the very last second. He jabs his bat down to keep the ball away from his stumps.

There's then a mix-up between the two batsmen, both stranded in the middle, but the throw from out in the deep is poor, and Neser thrusts his bat safely home.

    Agar 39, Neser 2

A little back foot punch from Michael Neser brings him another run, before Ashton Agar drives handsomely for four!

Too full again from David Willey, and Agar's eyes light up. He takes a big step forward and crashes the ball through a diving Eoin Morgan at cover.

  20. Aus 182-6published at 38.1 overs

David Willey is back into the attack for England.

And, er, Ashton Agar thwacks his first delivery to the boundary. It's a half-volley, in truth, and Agar isn't going to miss out on that.
