  1. 6 runs

    Aus 85-4published at 18.4 overs

Marcus Stoinis has had enough of rotating the strike.

The Aussie number four skips down the wicket and blasts Moeen Ali over long on for the first six of the day.

A lot of people in Australia are quite interested to see how this group goes. Most people just want them to put on a good show and find a way of moving forward, and I think that was what Tim Paine was trying to show with the handshakes at the start of the match.

Charlie Thomas: This is rough for Australia. Really abrasive cricket from England. Can anyone paper over the cracks?

  4. Aus 77-4published at 18 overs

Adil Rashid concedes five singles off the over and goes over to chat to Jos Buttler, clearly irked the batsmen are able to keep rotating the strike by clipping into leg.

That's the biggest worry England have right now though.

  5. Watch: 'The plan works' - Moeen removes Finchpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 13 June 2018

And here is the first of Moeen's three wickets so far - the important early dismissal of Aussie opener Aaron Finch...

  6. Aus 72-4published at 17 overs

    Moeen 5-0-13-3

Glenn Maxwell is off the mark straight away with a flick through mid-wicket for two. He then goes for a big sweep round the corner but misses, with a brief cry from Moeen Ali.

Another tremendous over from Moeen Ali, who looks very far from the player who was utterly bereft of confidence and form during the Ashes.

Drinks are being taken after that wicket.

Glenn Maxwell will join Marcus Stoinis at the crease.

Players are getting starts. They've all looked in very good nick then you'd say, all of a sudden, they've had a little bit of a brain fade.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.1 overs

    Paine c Wood b Moeen 12 (Aus 70-4)

Oh that is not very smart at all, skipper.

Tim Paine tries to reverse sweep Moeen Ali round the corner, Jos Buttler reads it and starts moving to his right, the ball flies wide of the keeper but straight to Mark Wood at backward point.

That pre-meditated shot was unnecessary and out of keeping with Australia's attempt to rebuild the innings.

The pitch may be good but Australia's batting has been careless.

  11. Aus 70-3published at 16 overs

Australia may be doing the right thing by giving themselves time but England will not mind getting through these overs without much damage being done at all.

Adil Rashid concedes five off the over, Marcus Stoinis picking up a couple off the last ball with a powerful drive through wide mid-off.

I think Australia are doing the right thing and giving themselves a bit of time. It's the type of ground that, if you get in on, you can go beserk.

England's spinners have got a squeeze on.

  14. Aus 65-3published at 15 overs

    Stoinis 6, Paine 10

Australia can barely carve out a run out there at the moment as Moeen Ali rips through another over, conceding just one.

  15. Watch: Moeen bowls Marsh as Australia strugglepublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 13 June 2018

Moeen Ali is about to start his fourth over, but here's his second wicket, bowling Shaun Marsh as the Aussie plays down the wrong line...

  16. Aus 64-3published at 14 overs

Oh you beauty! Adil Rashid beats Tim Paine all ends up with a gorgeous googly that just evades off stump.

The Aussie skipper won't last long if he can't pick those.

Meanwhile, New Zealand women are currently 313-1 off 37 overs against Ireland. They hit an ODI record 490-4 last week - could the 500 be on today?

I know Love Island has been a very successful show, but it would be better if somebody bowled a 10-ball over at the end.

  18. Aus 61-3published at 13 overs

The squeeze by spin is very much in full effect here as Moeen Ali wheels through another tight over, conceding just three from it.

  19. Aus 58-3published at 12 overs

England do now turn to double spin as Adil Rashid enters the attack.

And that's a fine start from the leg-spinner, limiting Stoinis and Paine to just a single each off the over.

Elliott Bewley: Between Moeen's previous two proper international England wickets we had:

    • A royal wedding
    • Peace in the Korean Peninsula
    • England's first ODI loss to Scotland
    • Ramos becoming the most hated man in Liverpool

Between the next two, all I managed was a cup of tea....
