In the last nine ODIs at The Oval, the team batting first has scored 300 or more six times, but lost four of those six games. It's a good ground to chase on.

That's a good over by Mark Wood. It's neck and neck to start with, but it looks a good pitch.

  3. Aus 30-1published at 5 overs

This is much better from Mark Wood, bowling tight lines and lengths to prevent Shaun Marsh scoring off his first five deliveries.

Make that six! A maiden from Wood. Tremendous over.

  4. Watch: Head edges Willey to first slippublished at 13:20 British Summer Time 13 June 2018

He's been hit for a few boundaries since, but David Willey made the early breakthrough, tempting Travis Head into the drive as the Aussie opener nicked off to Jonny Bairstow at slip.

The batsmen know that - if you're bowling at about 80mph or under - what length the ball is going to have to be.

  6. Aus 30-1published at 4 overs

David Willey finds some shape back into the right-hander and Aaron Finch inside edges it away for a couple.

Willey then fails to bring it back in enough and Finch gets a big stride out to it, driving through the covers for four.

An expensive start for England's opening bowlers, despite Willey's early breakthrough.

  8. Aus 22-1published at 3 overs

    Finch 8, Marsh 8

Shot! Aaron Finch sumptuously punches Mark Wood down the ground for four.

He likes batting against England in ODIs - averaging 55.38 against them, compared to a career average of 38.61.

Wood responds with a couple of dot balls but Finch then clips nicely through mid-wicket for three, with David Willey pulling it in just before the rope.

David Willey has taken eight wickets in his last 16 ODI innings.

  10. Aus 15-1published at 2 overs

New man Shaun Marsh covers up on his first two balls before David Willey pushes a tempter slightly wider and Marsh cracks him beautifully through the covers for four,

A brave shot, but Willey won't mind him going at those, given how he dismissed Travis Head.

Willey will mind that though - dragging his length down and Marsh batters a cut shot away for another four.

When the ball swings, David Willey is a dangerous bowler. It was a bit of a sucker ball - it was short and wide, and Travis Head threw the kitchen sink at it. Jonny Bairstow, being a keeper, it looked like he was never going to drop that.

That went at a nice pace and a nice height to slip. Head launched at it and it just swung a little bit.

    Head c Bairstow b Willey 5 (Aus 7-1)

Got him! David Willey finds that shape away from the left-hander with his second delivery, Travis Head flays at it and nicks off to Jonny Bairstow in the slips.

A perfect example of what the left-armer can do when the ball moves early on.

England have a vital early breakthrough, with the in-form Head departing for just five.

England's bowlers got a battering against Scotland. They all have to come back from that.

  15. Postpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 13 June 2018

Right, David Willey will take the new ball with Mark Wood.

So often impressive when the ball swings early on, but too often ineffective when it doesn't later on. What can he do here?

This pairing are crucial for me. Travis Head is in ridiculous form and Aaron Finch is the experienced guy in this line-up.

There will be some questions asked about this England team if they don't beat an Australia team shorn of so many of their best players.

  18. Aus 7-0published at 1 over

Travis Head flicks it to square leg for a couple then plays a nice positive drive through the covers for three.

Good stuff from Wood in response, hitting slightly back of a length and Finch can't work him away.

  19. Aus 1-0published at 0.1 overs

Mark Wood to Aaron Finch first up...

And the Aussie opener clips into the covers for a single.
