  1. 100 runs

100 for Finchpublished at 38.4 overs

Aaron Finch slices it away through backward point to pick up two and move to 99...

...and there's his century! Just a tap into the off side and Finch jogs through to complete his 11th ODI hundred and sixth against England.

A vital knock, finally back up in his preferred opening slot.

Can he tee off and fire Australia to a really competitive total here?

  2. 50 runs

50 for Shaun Marshpublished at 38.1 overs

    Aus 217-1

Bosh! Shaun Marsh comes down the pitch and belts Adiil Rashid over mid-wicket for a maxium. That's his half-century. Well played, sir.

  3. Aus 211-1published at 38 overs

    Run rate 5.55

The wayward Craig Overton is duly removed from the attack, with Mark Wood replacing him.

Mid-on drops back and Aaron Finch takes the singles on offer before Shaun Marsh scurries two. He's struggling a tad and England are throwing to his end every time.

Tidy enough from Wood until he slings one down leg and Finch flicks it fine for four, taking the Aussies opener onto 97.

Do Australia think they are doing well heading for a 300 score on a 350 wicket?

  6. Aus 203-1published at 37 overs

    Finch 92, Marsh 44

Moeen Ali offers much more control but can't prevent Aaron Finch tapping into leg to bring up the 100 partnership between himself and Shaun Marsh.

They've batted well but Australia need to use this stand as a platform to post a big total. Just 13 overs left to do it.

  7. 6 runs

    Aus 199-1published at 36 overs

    Overton 7-0-55-0

Aaron Finch looks like he fancies tucking into Craig Overton.

A poor, slow short ball is smashed away through mid-wicket for four.

Another similar delivery is then clattered over mid-wicket for six. That takes Finch onto 90.

Pretty ropey stuff from Overton, who doesn't have nearly enough pace to be bowling there.

I hear with interest that Sam Billings is 12th man today. Given his regularity with this role I wondered if any other cricketer in the entire history of the game has ever been 12th man more often?

  9. Aus 186-1published at 35 overs

A veritable flurry of boundaries! Well, two in two overs.

Shaun Marsh gets down on one knee to powerfully sweep Moeen Ali to the fence.

Normal service resumes as this pair rotate the strike.

One boundary and a few singles would get them eight an over at least. With 15 overs left, keep that up and they'd get 306.

I think 10 runs an over from here should be their minimum aim though.

Oh, hang on, an attacking cricket shot has happened. Aaron Finch lofts a drive off Craig Overton over mid-off for a one-bounce four.

Is he going to tee off now?

This really is like watching an ODI from 2004.

The return of the dreaded dreary middle overs in which the batting side just tap singles around, keeping wickets in hand for a late blast.

Aaron Finch nudges and nurdles it around the field, helping the tourists pick up a relatively blistering eight from that over.

Sure enough, Marsh's dive meant he had plenty of the bat and his arms behind the crease when the bails were removed.

Craig Overton is back on and Aaron Finch opts for a quick two, putting Shaun Marsh in a spot of bother at the non-striker's end.

The throw in is relayed onto the stumps as Marsh dives in.

It's sent upstairs but Marsh looked safe.

Sean Ennis: It must be literally impossible at the moment for Australia to have any idea how many is 'too many' for this England batting line up to chase down. How confident would they be even after setting 400?

  20. Aus 157-1published at 31 overs

Australia appear to be replicating England's batting approach from during the 2015 World Cup, rather than their tactics since then.

Moeen Ali keeps it tight in line and length and the tourists can only pick up four.

They're going to have to give it some welly in the last 15 overs to post a really challenging total here.
