Aus 65-0published at 11 overs
I've just had to stick Jeremy Wade's name into a search engine. I'd never hard of him before. He seems like the fishing equivalent of Terry Nutkins. Joe Root hustles through an over, confusing a swiping Travis Head.

Andrew Hamilton: I thought the biggest danger you faced when fishing was getting wet? Tell that to Jeremy Wade!
Finch 14, Head 44
Yep, Craig Overton on for his first bowl in ODI cricket. The way things have been going this summer, it was easy to think that the selectors had forgotten about him. Too short, but unlucky to see Head inside-edge for four. Too full, dispatched through the covers by the same man, who is closing on a second successive half-century.

Here comes Coverton. As opposed to Joverton.
Finch 14, Head 32
Just like Tuesday, Eoin Morgan turns to Joe Root's off-spin early. Root round the wicket, appealing against a sweeping Finch, but that must have pitched miles outside leg stump. Head continues to look impressive, skipping to drive through the covers. Did you miss Alex Hales' dropped catch earlier? Watch this and think of what might have been.

As soon as the ball stops swinging, David Willey is a medium pacer, just relying on line and length.
Durham have had a tough time over the past couple of years, but this match was sold-out at Christmas. The crowd is packed in, plenty tucking in to an amount of snacks that would feed a mobile army. Head drives Willey for four. Meanwhile, TMS have been sent cake. Scorer Andy Zaltzman seems to have mistaken his calculator for a camera. Like when my mum tries to make a phone call with the remote control.

I agree - Finch will be much more potent against the spinners if he's set on 30 or 40 when they come on.

I just wonder if moving Aaron Finch back to the top of the order gives Australia a bit more security.
The sun is playing hide-and-seek behind the clouds. Left-hander Head, behind an armguard, favours a shuffle across his stumps, exposing the leg peg. It gives him room to hit through the on side, finding the boundary twice off Mark Wood. It's just struck me that, as well as the cricket and the World Cup, we've also got tennis from Queen's and racing at Ascot. Take the football out, and that is a lot of posh sport.

This is the fourth ODI between England and Australia at Chester-le-Street and the fourth time the Aussies have batted first.
They won in 2005, but England won chasing in 2009 and 2012.
Finch 13, Head 13
I am genuinely curious to know if any new friendships/relationships/romances have come because of BBC live cricket. Too full from David Willey, driven twice in the over. Once through mid-on by Head, then through the covers by Finch. Australia already enjoying today more than Tuesday in Nottingham.

Rachel T: Why hide it? Appearing on the BBC live text has broken the ice & started up numerous conversations at business events!
Finch 9, Head 8
The injured Ben Stokes is in Durham. That's the closest he's got to playing an international on his home ground for a while. On the same theme, Durham chairman Sir Ian Botham is on crutches. Apparently he hurt himself whilst fishing. I thought the biggest danger you faced when fishing was getting wet?

Travis Head got into a funny position there. It wasn't out, though.
The TV pictures show shots of Lumley Castle, which looms over the ground. You've heard the Shane Watson story, right? Watson was so spooked by spending the night in the supposedly haunted castle that he had to sleep in Brett Lee's room. David Willey, still swinging, rattles the pads of Travis Head, but it's adjudged to be too high.

That came out of the bat like a missile and he had it in his hand but it crept out when he landed on his tummy. What a catch that would have been.
Aus 10-0
It's going down as drop, but it would have been an absolute worldie. The type played again and again on DVDs called '101 great catches'. Alex Hales at mid-wicket, diving to his right, throwing out a hand to try to cling on to a hammered pull from Aaron Finch. He has it, only for the ball to pop out when he hits the ground. So close to something brilliant.

I think Finch likes to start against the pace bowlers, so he can get himself in ready for the spin bowlers. He's not as good starting against spin.
David Willey to share the new balls. Definite shape for the left-armer, away from fellow leftie Travis Head. In the crowd, a man with a magnificent moustache nods, as if he's sleepy already. He looks a bit like the Monopoly man.
