Craig Overton was bowling faster than Mark Wood in the warm-up. He got his cap today from Ian Botham, which I did too. That is still a career highlight - the great Ian Botham giving me my England cap.

Aaron Finch celebrates being restored to the top order be hooking Wood's first ball for four. That was rank from Wood, a long hop, but the rest of the over has decent pace and a little shape. Only one more from it.

As a young boy I was looking forward to seeing Colin Milburn bat at The Mote cricket ground against Kent. I was five minutes late on my bike and he was gone already. I never had the chance again!

I wouldn't want to bowl into the wind today. I know somebody has to do it but I'd be promising to buy the captain some chips after the game, just to get out of it.

Here come the players, into some very lovely northern sunshine. The sunlight is bright enough to ping a blinding reflection off the yellow Aussie kit. Aaron Finch has been restored to the top of the order alongside Travis Head.

Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid are the highlights of the series for me. Put a red ball in their hand and they don't like it - Moeen doesn't have confidence in himself and Adil isn't playing it for the next year. But with the white ball, they seem to grow. They bounce off each other and I kind of wanted Adil to be named man of the match the other night for taking four wickets. Well done to both of them!

Here's a little tricky I learned on this very page to watch secretly at work, open an Excel spreadsheet, click the 'Data' tab, select 'From Web', delete 'about:blank' from the box, paste the URL for this page in the space, click 'Import' twice, click ok, refresh as necessary.

There's more in it for the bowlers today - more than we saw at Trent Bridge anyway - but if Australia play better, they should be able to post a decent total. If Glenn Maxwell was in the team ahead of Tim Paine, this would probably be the best line-up Australia could field on this trip.

Yep, it looks like Aggers has had quite a time of it getting to Durham today.

If you've ever had a harrowing journey to the cricket, share the tale.

Back in 2000, as a wet-behind-the-ears teenager, I missed about four trains on the way to Headingley. Eventually, I got there for lunch. It was the day England beat West Indies inside two days.

Which leads me to wonder, how are you managing to secretly keep abreast of cricketing and footballing action while at work/school? Let me know. It's just coming up 11 at night on the east coast of Australia, so, if you're down under, tell me if you're staying up into the wee hours.

Just like Saturday, the Australian cricket team are playing at the same time as their footballers at the World Cup.

I'm going to keep you updated on the football score. I don't care if you wanted to watch it later. If you didn't want to know the score, don't come to a sports website.

Australia have just leveled it up at 1-1 with Denmark. Mile Jedinak penalty.

England captain Eoin Morgan: "We would have bowled first. The wicket looks good so hopefully we can put in another performance today and get another result under our belt. It is a different day with different conditions and we have to recognise that. Earning the right to win any game takes a lot of hard work. Hopefully we can restrict Australia to a chaseable target."
