PitchedOutsideLeg: I am very positive about England's chance because I put on my left sock first this morning, shaved my right cheek first, put my bran flakes in my cereal bowl BEFORE my cornflakes, AFTER I had fed the cat who usually gets fed second. Can't fail. Can it?

If you play for England, what do you do if you don't like/aren't very good at football? Keaton Jennings, for one, looks like a chap whose formative years in South Africa didn't include much five-a-side.

That's not quite the positivity I'm after, John.

If you look at the Test match as a whole, the opening partnerships have been good. It's more of a challenge when the lacquer comes off the ball.

One of the biggest question marks around England today surrounds Jonny Bairstow.

He broke a finger yesterday while wicketkeeping.

England said yesterday he was likely to bat today if/when he is needed.

This morning Bairstow has had a net to test out the finger. He had some extra protection on the glove.

    We will wait and see.

Matt Wass: Any questions about Kohli in England have been answered. He’s a class above any other batsmen in world cricket at the moment and an all-time great of the game. Watching him hit his 23rd Test hundred yesterday at Trent Bridge was a real privilege.

Virat Kohli showed yesterday that it is possible to bat on this surface.

He reached a second century of the series and the 23rd of his career yesterday.

Michael Vaughan says the India captain is the "stand-out player of this era by a country mile".

    I wholeheartedly agree.

So let's at least start positively from an England point of view.

I want to know your reasons to be positive about the England's chances.

What makes you think they can do it?

If you look at the pitch, the footholes have developed - it's just whether Ashwin is fit enough to bowl. He seemed fine in practice this morning. I don't think it will be too bad to bat but can they take a leaf out of Pujara and Rahane's book? I won't say Virat Kohli because he's on another planet. You don't play your own way, you play the way that is required in the Test match. Let's make it difficult for India. Don't give them a cluster of wickets.

England must bat all day today and all day tomorrow to avoid seeing their series lead being cut to 2-1.

India need 10 wickets to win the Test.

England's target is 521 runs. If they do bat for the two days they need then they'll probably win it.

Good morning. I've got deja vu.

I can't help but think back to last year's Trent Bridge against South Africa, and every other time England have faced an unlikely escape act in the final days in recent years.

You know it could well end in a crumpled heap but can't help thinking 'what if'...

    Two days.

    180 overs.

    498 runs.

    Improbable. But not impossible...
