Joel Coady: Frustrating that it's taken this long for someone from our top six to work out that you don't have to smash an innings in under a run a ball to be effective in Test cricket.
A moment Jos Buttler will remember forever.
Look at that relief at hitting his first Test hundred...

Stokes 52, Buttler 106
Excellent from Jos Buttler. Pandya is finding a bit of swing and just dangles the ball out there but the Englishman resists. He leaves them all before taking an easy single on the final ball of the over.
The new ball is now available. It's also drinks.

Buttler started very, very watchfully and then as he settled in began to play with a lot more confidence. Then Ben Stokes, what an innings he has played as well.
Target 521
I don't know whether it is deliberate but Ashwin has bowled a few yorkers to Stokes in the last few overs. Could be because of Stokes' big back lift? The Indian fielders get excited but Stokes deals with it.
The umpire has just called out for that big hammer thing to sort out the foot holes.

BBC Test Match Special statistician
It's only England's third Test century in their last eight Tests. Buttler's 21 fours in the innings equals the world record set in making a century.
Buttler 104, Stokes 52
Ben Stokes is coming down the pitch to Hardik Pandya. This battle between the two all-rounders should be entertaining.

Buttler is someone you just want to come and watch. In early May he had no idea he would be playing in the England Test team.
Hardik Pandya is coming back on with three overs to go until the new ball. England have won the first hour after tea. 90 minutes to go.

Standing ovation for the Buttler ton. What about that bear hug from Ben Stokes, too?
Back to business now for Stokes and Buttler. The former has seen a lot of Ashwin in the last few overs and blocks another over out.
Buttler's hundred has come in good time - in 152 balls.
Stokes has been out there 163 deliveries for his 52 in comparison.
Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special
A tremendous innings, under the circumstances of the match, the conditions he went out in. Yes there was fortune with that drop but he has played an incredible Test innings. The tempo has been perfect. He just needs to lock that and take it wherever he goes because that's the kind of tempo you need. His timing has been immaculate.
Virat Kohli knows a good innings when he sees one too. He was applauding at slip. Buttler takes his time to recompose himself.
England now only need 301.
Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special
Buttler is a special talent, as soon as he gets an opportunity to score he times it so well.
He's got it!! You can't help but smile. Jos Buttler looks absolutely delighted. He's made his first century on the biggest stage of all. He takes off his helmet and is beaming. All of his England teammates appear to applaud him. Stokes drops his bat and hugs him.
So, so well deserved.
Now an excellent pull into the gap.
Buttler is on 99.
Stokes gives him a big punch of the gloves...
