Still no ball tracking replay, so still not sure that was definitely out. It looked a decent shout though.
Anyway, here is Stuart Broad at the crease...

Fairly full and it hit him below the knee so it's not too high and he missed it. There is still something there so that will please the England seamers. They must not get too excited when they bowl, just bowl the lines.
Rashid lbw Ishant 6 (Eng 177-8)
Ishant Sharma sends down a big inswinger and raps Adil Rashid on the pads.
Huge appeal and, after brief consideration, umpire Bruce Oxenford raises the finger.
Rashid was falling over as it hit him below the knee roll. The only issue could have been if it was sliding down leg but England have no reviews left and Rashid has to go.
India are just two wickets away.

Alastair Cook's form is getting worse not better, Keaton Jennings is not cutting it. We have dropped our young kid at four, Ollie Pope, we are no further forward in finding batsmen. The selectors would be better at county matches trying to find somebody.
Jasprit Bumrah is back into the attack and he gets one to spit at Adil Rashid, who was looking to whip it through leg but ends up playing it into off for one.

Do you think Jennings is an opening batsman for England? He doesn't look like one to me. There are others who have been tried who look better than him.
Curran 41, Rashid 3
A single apiece for Sam Curran and Adil Rashid off Ishant Sharma.

Curran is just what you want from youth, enthusiastic, no fear, confidence is high. He can bat with freedom. I wonder if India think they are home and dry. That's dangerous because the ball has done a bit so somewhere near 200 gives the England bowlers something to bowl at.

Mark Stevens: Why would a batsman play any type of slog shot on day one of a Test when his team is in a hole?
Sam Curran continues to use his feet well, dancing back to Ravichandran Ashwin and driving through the covers for one.
Phil Tufnell
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
You can be bowling your stock delivery to the first five or six batsmen who come forward and then someone like Curran starts playing it off the back foot. It makes you think is it me that's bowling short or is it the way he is playing me? Curran puts you off length as a bowler.
Ishant Sharma goes wide on the crease and squares up Adil Rashid with one that jags back in - it catches a thick outside edge but runs away along the floor harmlessly.
Rashid then clips nicely round the corner towards the fence but Shikhar Dhawan, in his shin pads, does well to dive and save two.
Ishant responds with one that swings in a strikes the pads. Brief appeal but not out - that was heading down leg.

The best players are at the end of the innings for England, better than the top! If we could just find five decent top-order batsmen it might be the best team in the world because the middle order is fantastic.
Sam Curran takes a single and new man Adil Rashid defends his first delivery.

The partnership between Moeen and Curran was 81 off 150 balls with six fours and two sixes.
Sam Curran shoulders arms and the ball hits the pads. It was the off-spinner not the arm ball though and that's not out.

Great running catch, commentator's curse, I was just saying he didn't look like taking a wicket. It just bounced a bit on him as he was trying to slog sweep it, a top edge and well pouched.
Moeen c Bumrah b Ashwin 40 (Eng 167-7)
Oh Mo.
Moeen Ali goes for a big sweep shot, Ravichandran Ashwin finds a bit of bounce and the ball catches the top edge.
It flies out towards mid-wicket and Jasprit Bumrah takes a fine catch, not least because wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was bearing down on him.
Ashwin makes the third umpire signal towards the dressing room afterwards - no need to review it so perhaps he was crediting someone up there for a bit of advice?

England are starting to scramble their way out of a hole here.
Ishant Sharma is back into the attack with two left-handers to bowl at. Can he pick up another wicket?
He starts over the wicket to Sam Curran, who drives on the up in front of point for two.
Eeek. Curran flashes at a very wide one next up though.
More byes! Ishant strays down leg and Rishabh Pant can't cut it off as the ball races away to the fence.
