Jenny Gunn has changed her game really well. She's developed a slower ball which would be her variation in the longer format, but it's her normal stock delivery here.

  2. SA 67-3published at 11 overs

    184 needed from 54 balls

Captain Heather Knight rotates her medium-pacers as she turns back to the miserly Jenny Gunn, who only goes for two singles in five balls before the last delivery is whacked through mid-wicket - and into the England dug-out - for four by Du Preez. The required rate has leapt to over 20.

135 avoids the biggest score in women's T20s - but if they score 148 it'll be the highest aggregate score in a women's T20 international, and would mean we've seen two of the three biggest aggregate scores today.

  5. SA 61-3published at 10 overs

    Target 251

After six different bowlers in nine overs, England turn back to Danielle Hazell's off-spin - she's reverse-swept for four by Van Niekerk, but a conventional sweep is well stopped by Ecclestone at short fine leg.

The only thing they can do is try to target single English bowlers and get one over on them and knock their confidence, as it's extremely unlikely that they're going to get this score.

    SA 54-3published at 9 overs

Van Niekerk 20, Du Preez 12

England turn to Natalie Sciver as their sixth bowler as South Africa continue their pursuit of England's quite ludicrous total. Du Preez edges the medium-pacer past the keeper for four - while Van Niekerk gets down on one knee and lifts her side past 50 with a six into the crowd - with a man in a blue wig putting the catch down.

A four means it's 17 off the over. If they can do that another 11 times, they might get close...

Has there ever been a better 48 hours for England men's and women's cricket, with a contribution from both?

Lydia Greenway adds: The 2005 Ashes was quite close together. We won our Ashes at Worcester and were waiting for the men's result from the Oval, as we'd get to go on the open-top bus ride!

  9. SA 37-3published at 8 overs

    Target 251

Left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone, having redeemed herself for that dropped catch by running out Brits, is into the attack. She starts with a couple of dot balls before Du Preez helps herself to a four off her legs. But even though Van Niekerk carves a couple of fours, the required rate is up to 17.8.

135 is the real target for South Africa, so they don't break the record for losing by the largest margin.

  11. SA 28-3published at 7 overs

    223 needed from 78 balls

Mignon du Preez is the new batter - but it's a canny over from the experienced Gunn, which yields just two singles.

Brits run out (Ecclestone) 1 (SA 26-3)

Gone! Though if you're being particularly evil, with Brits having scored one run from 13 balls, you could postulate that England could have kept her in to keep the scoring rate down...

  15. SA 26-2published at 6 overs

    Target 251

After that Hazell breakthrough, England turn back to Brunt, and Van Niekerk whacks her over her head for four - but that's the only scoring stroke. A Herculean task for the Proteas skipper to lift her side from here, with the required rate spiralling past 16.

    Shrubsole 3-2-2-0

Shdubsole not giving South Africa an inch - a maiden over to Brits means it's 16 dot balls from her first 18 deliveries (with one of those dots being a dropped catch!).

Brits is all at sea, having taken 11 overs to score one run - the Proteas are being strangled in the powerplay here.

    Lee lbw b Hazell 19 (SA 22-2)

That's how you bounce back from being hit for six - Lee aims another big blast over the leg side and is clearly hit in front for one of the easier lbw decisions the umpires will give this summer - the ball-tracker showing it crashing into the middle of leg stump.
