  1. 6 runs

    SA 22-1published at 3.4 overs

Danielle Hazell into the attack from the River End - England will hope the off-spinner doesn't get lifted into the aforementioned river in the way fellow offie Vic Marks often did, according to popular local legend...

Lizelle Lee seems intent on taking on the spinner, smacking back-to-back fours through the off side as Hazell tries to find her rhythm. And the fourth ball of the over is slogged over long-on for six.

  2. dropped catch

Brits dropped on onepublished at 3 overs

    SA 8-1

You can't say England aren't giving South Africa the odd chance... Brits tries to push Shrubsole through the covers and is put down by teenager Sophie Ecclestone running in. The bowler (figures 2-1-2-0) is not impressed, but SA's required rate is already in excess of 14...

  4. SA 6-1published at 2 overs

Tazmin Brits in at three, but they crossed on the catch and Lizelle Lee swivel-pulls Brunt down the leg side for four.

Chris Smith: That must be the first time the world record’s been broken twice in the same day right? Poor South Africa.

Samson: Unbelievable stuff from England women. Another day, another record! Amazing batting.

I've seen a chap in the England dug-out called Julian Wood, who's a power-hitting coach, who's learned a lot from baseball and has worked with the England men's team. I worked with him when I was with Western Storm here, it was a power-hitting workshop. Joe Root has spoken a lot about using him as a coach, and how good that someone like that is coming into the women's game, they're sharing the coaches and records are falling galore.

(And for those of you wondering, he is the same Julian Wood who used to play for Hampshire in the late 80s.early 90s!)

England opener Tammy Beaumont on Sky Sports: "Our assistant coach Ali Maiden told me yesterday that I don't always start well in T20, so it's great to get a hundred! I've known Danni Wyatt for 10-15 years, she can go from ball one and when she slows down, I can speed up. It's an incredible wicket here - South Africa have got some power hitters so that target isn't out of reach, we're going to have to bowl well and hopefully the spinners can tie them up."

That's brutal hitting from England. Any male cricketer would be doing well to clear these ropes as well.

  19. Eng 250-3published at 20 overs

Captain Heather Knight manages a single off the last ball to take England to the landmark score of 250. Brunt finishes 42 not out from 16 balls.

They've not just broken that record, they've shattered it, taken the broken pieces and jumped up and down on them.
