    WICKETpublished at 13.1 overs

    Wyatt c Ismail b Lackay 56 (Eng 147-1)

Wyatt goes for another big heave - but South Africa finally have the breakthrough as Shabnim Ismail takes a good catch at deep mid-wicket. it's Lackay's first international wicket.

The 147 stand ties for England's record T20 opening stand, with a 147 by Beaumont and Lauren Winfield against Pakistan at Bristol in 2018.

  2. Watch: Beaumont clubs Luus for sixpublished at 18:32 British Summer Time 20 June 2018

Here's the first of those sixes from Beaumont, who now has 90 from 43 balls.

  3. dropped catch

    CLOSE!published at 13 overs

    Eng 147-0

After hammering Van Niekerk her second six, Beaumont is close to holing out at long-on - Sune Luus leaps into the air and takes the catch one-handed, but realises she's going to fall over the boundary and has to throw the ball back in without completing the catch. A superhuman effort to save the six, in retrospect.

  4. Missed stumpingpublished at 12.1 overs

    Eng 137-0

Once again, Lizelle Lee's wicketkeeping costs South Africa as she fumbles a chance to stump Wyatt on 55 when she goes down the track. When will the penny drop for the Proteas? England run a bye.

  5. Eng 136-0published at 12 overs

    Wyatt 55 (33 balls), Beaumont 81 (39)

More easy pickings for Wyatt who helps herself to another four. The England pair have earned a visit from 12th man Laura Marsh, who brings on a towel.

  6. 50 runs

50 for Danni Wyattpublished at 11.3 overs

    Eng 130-0

The inexperienced Stacy Lackay is South Africa's seventh bowler - but her off-spin is milked for a two and a single for Wyatt's fifty, from 31 balls.

  9. Eng 127-0published at 11 overs

    Wyatt 47, Beaumont 80

Klaas returns - and with long-on and long-off back, Tammy Beaumont shows her 360-degree batting skills by Dilscooping the medium-pacer over the keeper's head for four, and cracking another four through mid-wicket! The Kent opener does then try another scoop and scoops the ball into her helmet grille. Ouch.

I'm on my feet as we have the prospect, on successive days, of England's men breaking the ODI record score, and the women breaking the T20 record score!

(For those of you who weren't with us earlier, the women's record was only set a few hours ago by New Zealand!)

  11. 6 runs

    Eng 116-0published at 10 overs

    Wyatt 45, Beaumont 71

Oh, dear. Luus serves up a pie of a full toss which Beaumont hits back over her head for four. "Don't bowl full tosses to Tammy Beauont - that's my tip for the day", notes Isabelle Westbury on TMS.

The last ball of the over, to be fair to Luus, is not a full toss - but it's equally pie-esque and despatched for a straight six!

  12. Eng 106-0published at 9.4 overs

Dane van Niekerk, looking around for a bowler, throws the ball to fellow leg-spinner Sune Luus - who tends to bowl a bit higher and loopier than DVN, and might be able to buy a wicket, or is that clutching at straws?

Wyatt is able to hit with the spin, guiding a four through extra cover for her highest T20 score in England (though she does have two overseas centuries!).

Van Niekerk is speaking to the umpires - I think it's about Marizanne Kapp, who has been off the field and it might be about when she can come back on to bowl.

    Eng 100-0

After a single from Wyatt, Van Niekerk tosses one up and Beaumont dismissively whacks the leg-spinner over her head for four. A single to long-off earns a ripple of applause for the century stand. Wyatt has 40 from 23, Beaumont 60 from 31.

Can you sense some more records falling today?

On a brighter note for any South African fans reading this... err... they haven't conceded any extras so far. But in total for the day, they are 316-1 after 30 overs.

    Eng 88-0

Off-spinner Raisibe Ntozakhe on at the new Somerset Pavilion End, but Beaumont plunders successive fours and then a well-run two brings her a fourth T20 fifty from just 27 balls, with 10 fours.

This is a record T20 opening parnership for England, beating the 67 made by Sarah Taylor and Charlotte Edwards in Dhaka in 2014.

  20. Eng 78-0published at 7 overs

    Wyatt 37 (19 balls), Beaumont 41 (23)

Dane van Niekerk brings herself into the attack, in place of the expensive Klaas, but Beaumont works the leg-spinner for some scampered ones and twos. Van Niekerk is back to bowling round the wicket, as she did in the ODIs - thereby taking lbw out of the equation the moment that the ball pitches outside leg stump - and Wyatt whacks one pitched a couple of yards outside leg, for four through mid-wicket.
