Worcestershire could rue three chances that went begging should Kent go on to win this match.

Heino Kuhn was put down by Daryl Mitchell and Brett D'Oliveira failed to gather a threw cleanly with Adam Rouse yards out of his ground.

Keeper Ben Cox, though, could at least claim his was a really difficult chance as he anticipated a ramp shot by Kuhn but the ball bounced off his hand.

There was a growing sense of unease around New Road as that century stand between Heino Kuhn and Adam Rouse evolved. Even the amusing musical banter between the Pears lovers and their equally raucous hop-fuelled rivals from Kent had softened to a light accompaniment. Worcestershire supporters would feel a lot easier about their prospects of a first Lord’s final in 14 years if Daryl Mitchell had not spilled that return catch from Kuhn. And any team with a competitor like Darren Stevens, even at 42, is always to be feared. But has Rouse’s removal turned this contest for the final time?"

  6. Kent 144-3published at 30th over

    Kuhn 62, Rouse 70

Kent have decided they've waited long enough to attack.

Adam Rouse hits Brett D'Oliveira for four before he's almost beaten playing another attacking sweep, only for a misfield to bring him two more runs.

Two singles follow before Rouse breaks out the sweep again, this time connecting well enough to send the ball zipping away through square leg for four.

  7. 'Nearly as good as his batting innings'published at 16:49 British Summer Time 17 June 2018

That was nearly as good as his batting innings, that was excellent from Ben Cox.

Anticipation, that was the key there, he's always thinking as a wicket keeper.

  8. dropped catch

    Kent 132-3published at 29th over

    Kuhn 61, Rouse 59

Technically, this goes down as a drop.

It;s great wicket-keeping from Ben Cox though, anticipating a ramp shot and almost picking the ball out of the air with his right hand.

Another good over from Daryl Mitchell goes awry at the end, as a wide ball is followed by Heino Kuhn's drag to the leg-side boundary.

  9. Kent 126-3published at 28th over

    Kuhn 57, Rouse 58

    Adam RouseImage source, PA

Adam Rouse is rapidly closing in on his career-best List A score of 75, a sweep beating the infield and running away to the fine leg boundary.

Nine runs come off the over, a much-needed boost for the Kent batsmen.

  10. Kent 117-3published at 27th over

    Kuhn 54, Rouse 52

Worcestershire are keeping the run rate down, but could they come to regret their missed wicket-taking chances?

The visitors need to up the pace with the bat, but with Heino Kuhn well set, plus Darren Stevens and Alex Blake waiting to come in, they have the firepower.

The required run rate, though, is more than eight an over and climbing.

    Fabian Cowdrey

This is a battle of composure now in the last quarter of the match.

Adam Rouse should have been run out and Heino Kuhn should have been caught.

If you're a Worcestershire fan, you'll be hoping those two mistakes won't cost you

  12. 50 runs

for Adam Rousepublished at 26th over

    Kuhn 53, Rouse 50

Adam Rouse reaches 50 from 72 balls, but he should be run out from his 73rd.

Ed Barnard whips a throw in at the non-striker's end, where Rouse is yards short of the crease, but Brett D'Oliveira can't bring the ball in to take the bails off.

Huge mistake from the Worcestershire spinner.

  13. dropped catch

    Kent 109-3 - target 307published at 25th over

    Kuhn 50, Rouse 48

A really difficult chance, but one Worcestershire needed to take.

Daryl Mitchell can't snaffle a low caught-and-bowled opportunity as Heino Kuhn sends the ball back down the track to the bowler.

Kent need 198 more at the half-way point of their innings.

  14. 'Kuhn is going brilliantly'published at 16:34 British Summer Time 17 June 2018

    Fabian Cowdrey
Ex-Kent all-rounder on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

When you're in form you've got to make the most of it and Heino Kuhn has done just that.

He has a lot of work to do, it was a very moderate and calm celebration, he's been here before and he needs to bat through now.

    He's going brilliantly for Kent.

    Kuhn 47, Rouse 39

Charlie Morris is back into the attack, with only two runs coming from the over.

Should Dillon Pennington be given another bowl?

It might be a risk with only five overs left for the youngster, but he was by far the most dangerous bowler in the early stages.

  18. Kent 94-3published at 21st over

    Kuhn 46, Rouse 38

It's tense at New Road, if not thrilling viewing for the neutral.

Heino Kuhn is just a boundary away from a well-deserved 50.

  20. Kent 86-3 - target 307published at 19th over

    Kuhn 44, Rouse 32

It's getting hard to find new ways to describe this game, as Kent continue to work the Worcestershire bowlers for singles.

Three of them come from Daryl Mitchell's first five balls, before Adam Rouse ups the excitement with two runs from the final delivery.
