Incidentally, eagle-eyed observers will notice that Kent's team bus is more regularly used by a football team from a different part of the country. Wonder why they didn't ask Gillingham for a lend of theirs?. Perhaps it's being MOT'd.

  2. Kent 22-2published at 4th over

    Kuhn 16, Dickson 5

Heino Kuhn has been in fine form of late, and he's had the better of Charlie Morris so far.

Kuhn strikes two fours from the first three balls of the over, before he and Sean Dickson add a single each.

Morris hasn't quite found his range yet.

  3. Kent 12-2published at 3rd over

    Kuhn 7, Dickson 4

Sean Dickson drives the ball to the boundary for a much needed four runs for Kent.

The visitors will be hoping for something similar to Worcestershire's innings here, the hosts fighting back from 48-4 to post 306-6.

    WICKETpublished at 2.3 overs

    Denly c Ferguson b Pennington 0

Second career start, his second over of the afternoon, and it's a second wicket for Dillon Pennington.

Pennington gets Joe Denly to drive without much conviction, the ball lofting up to Callum Ferguson, who takes the catch at mid-off.

    Kent are in huge trouble.

  5. Kent 7-1 - target 307published at 2nd over

    Kuhn 5, Denly 0

Charlie Morris has the ball for Worcestershire at the other end, and Heino Kuhn wastes no time getting stuck into him.

The South African opens the face of the bat to send the ball running down to third man for four, before pinching a single.

Morris responds well though, keeping Joe Denly without a run from the final three balls of the over.

    Bell-Drummond b Pennington 2

What a start for Dillon Pennington!

The 19-year-old is playing just his second ever first-team game, but he gets a huge wicket with the final ball of the over, Daniel Bell-Drummond sending an inside edge flying into the stumps.

What a big wicket that is from Dillon Pennington! daniel Bell-Drummond is in fine form in one-day cricket and that is exactly what Worcestershire needed to peg Kent back."

    Thanks, Paul.

This could be quite the run chase. Worcestershire have a competitive total on the board, but an inexperienced attack to defend it.

Young seamers Dillon Pennington and Patrick Brown have played just six List A games between them.

Right then, it's not long now until Kent start their reply against Worcestershire in the first One-Day Cup semi-final at New Road.

The home side posted a score of 306-6, thanks in large part to Ben Cox's superb unbeaten 122.

Kent have a strong batting line-up, but will they come good when the pressure is on? And how will Worcestershire's teenage seam bowlers, Dillon Pennington and Patrick Brown, cope in perhaps the biggest game of their careers so far.

I'm handing over to Josh Hunt to describe the run-chase.

From a routine change of captaincy at Yorkshire, to one that's been anything but routine at Leicestershire.

Michael Carberry is apparently considering legal action against the club over the manner in which he lost the job.

Can anyone recall anything similar happening in years past?

Matt: Incredible knock from Cox there, brilliantly backed up by Barnard!

Steve Dean: we are so blessed with ace wicketkeeper / batsmen in England. Bairstow , Buttler , Foakes , Billings etc and the brilliant Ben Cox must be added to the list . He is such an asset for Worcestershire.

Robert Stow: Looks like Yorkshire will be beating Worcestershire in the final then

What a time to score your 100 in a semi-final. Ben Cox has been fantastic today, he came in four wickets down for 48 and he has masterminded the recovery.

The Worcestershire dressing room will be absolutely buzzing and they will be slapping the back of Ben Cox.

They still have a job to do but at the halfway stage Cox has stood up and been counted.

I've never heard New Road as loud as it was in the last five innings.

  19. Worcs 306-6 - innings completepublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 17 June 2018

    Cox 122*, Barnard 50*

The stats for Ben Cox's brilliant innings - 140 minutes, 106 balls faced, two sixes and 14 fours.

Ed Barnard's wasn't bad either - 50 off 28 balls with two sixes and four fours.

So from 48-4, Worcestershire reach a total in excess of 300 - but how does Cox rate their total?

"Par," he tells Sky Sports. We shall see.

  20. Worcs 306-6published at 50th over

    Cox 122, Barnard 50

Ben Cox isn't finished and clears the rope at mid-wicket from the third ball of the over.

The next is swept away for four as Cox moves right across his stumps and the total reaches 300.

Ball five - it's a switch-hit and four more are added to the score.

What's in store from the final delivery of the innings? It's only two despite a misfield in the deep, but Cox and Ed Barnard have put on 109 in just 9.4 overs together. Astonishing.
