    Steyn b Patterson 23 (Hampshire 442-9 v Yorkshire 350)

    Relief for Yorkshire!

Steven Patterson bowls Dale Steyn, but not before the South African has done plenty of damage with the bat.

Last man Fidel Edwards joins Gareth Berg in the middle - Berg is 17 runs away from a century.

  2. Close of play at Swanseapublished at 18:38 British Summer Time 22 June 2018

    Glamorgan 283 & 201-3 (51 overs) v Derbyshire 362 - lead by 122

Derbyshire would've fancied their chances of forcing a win with time to spare after Glamorgan slumped to 48-3, still 31 behind Derbyshire's first innings at that point, but Usman Khawaja (79*) and Kiran Carlson (69*) have batted the home side back into contention.

Both sides have plenty to play for tomorrow.

    Hampshire 437-8 v Yorkshire 350

Yorkshire's bowlers are taking a pasting from Hampshire's lower order here.

Dale Steyn has just hit Jack Brooks for three fours in four deliveries and has raced onto 23.

Gareth Berg then smacks Steven Patterson to the rope at the start of the next over.

    The lead is approaching 100.

    Essex 88-4 (target 441)

    Luke FletcherImage source, Rex Features

Very much Nottinghamshire's day at Essex.

Tom Moores' superb 87, with seven maximums, took Notts' lead up to 440.

Essex lost four wickets after tea and are facing defeat on the final day.

  5. Close of play at New Roadpublished at 18:27 British Summer Time 22 June 2018

    Lancashire 269-4 (target 602)

And that's stumps at New Road on another excellent day for Worcestershire.

The hosts batted Lancashire into the ground in the morning session, setting them more than 600 to win.

But Keaton Jennings' unbeaten 135 has given the Red Rose county a glimmer of hope of maybe snatching a draw.

If they chase down 602 to win, I'm not sure there will ever be another declaration!

Things are drawing to a close on day three at Chelmsford and New Road.

Worcestershire and Notts both very much on top heading into the final day.

  7. Division Two round-uppublished at 18:14 British Summer Time 22 June 2018

    Three matches in progress now...

Warwickshire dare to dream at Tunbridge Wells. Set a mammoth target of 519 by Kent, they're through to stumps 290 behind on 229-1. Ian Bell has 102 not out and Dominic Sibley is on 82.

Middlesex have lost their second wicket at Grace Road, where they're chasing 381 to beat Leicestershire. Sam Robson was the last man out, lbw to Gavin Griffiths for 31.

    They're now 311 behind on 70-2.

Glamorgan are steadily building their lead over Derbyshire at Swansea, where Usman Khawaja and Kiran Carlson have steered the home side to 175-3 - a lead of 96.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:11 British Summer Time 22 June 2018

    Lawrence c & b Patel (Essex 86-4, target 441)

    Samit PatelImage source, Rex Features

Samit Patel gets a wicket with his first ball.

Dan Lawrence chips it straight back to the spinner and Patel clings on.

That could be game, set, and match for the defending champions.

  9. Durham thrashed by Sussex in Arundelpublished at 18:11 British Summer Time 22 June 2018

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

Durham have been beaten by Sussex in Arundel. They were bowled out while following on in their second innings for 277 to lose by an innings and 64 runs on day three.

They never recovered from a collapse this morning which began in the first over when Will Smith was out for 90. They lost their last six wickets for just nine runs. It was nearly as bad as their capitulation on day 3 in Taunton two years ago when they lost their last five men for six runs in 22 balls.

Following on 341 behind they were bowled out for a second time before the close of play on day three.

It’s a tough season as the sanctions continue to bite. Durham won in Arundel the last time they were here three years ago, but seven of those players have since left the club - while two more didn’t feature in this one.

And while they came back from behind this year to beat Leicestershire and Derbyshire, they were always up against it in this game when the hosts made a first innings score of 552, the highest on the ground.

  10. 6 runs

for Steynpublished at 18:11 British Summer Time 22 June 2018

    Hampshire 403-8 v Yorkshire 350

That's a rather nice way to bring up your side's 400.

Dale Steyn smears Adam Lyth for six over long on.

Hold on, there's a wicket at Chelmsford...

  11. Close of play at Tunbridge Wellspublished at 18:07 British Summer Time 22 June 2018

    Kent 197 & 446-8d v Warwickshire 125 & 229-1

It's still a monster target, but Warwickshire still have hope with Ian Bell at the crease. He resumes tomorrow unbeaten on 102.

Great support from Dominic Sibley, who is 82 not out and within sight of his first Championship ton of the summer.

    290 more runs to win.

  12. Postpublished at 18:06 British Summer Time 22 June 2018

    Essex 81-3 (target 441)

Essex are just about clinging on to Notts late in the day at Chelmsford.

They'll need a monumental batting effort on the final day to get anywhere close to that target of 441.

Saving the game will probably be the more realistic option.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 18:02 British Summer Time 22 June 2018

    Jones c Cox b Morris 10 (Lancs 252-4, target 602)

Another wicket for Worcestershire late in the day. Is that Lancashire's hopes gone?

Rob Jones edges seamer Charlie Morris behind to Ben Cox, who takes a brilliant catch standing up to the stumps.

Keaton Jennings is still there on 126. Dane Vilas comes in at six.

  14. 100 for Ian Bellpublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 22 June 2018

    Warwickshire 223-1 (target 519)

This has been a prolific summer for Ian Bell, who scores his third Championship ton of the summer, sailing past 500 runs for the season in the process, with an average well into the 60s.

That's his 55th first-class century, which he reaches off 164 balls with his 15th boundary.

    Matt Henry was the bowler.

Warwickshire are 223-1 now chasing 519 to win against Kent

    They can't... Can they?

  15. 50 for Bergpublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 22 June 2018

    Hampshire 389-8 v Yorkshire 350

Gareth Berg is such a handy lower-order batsman.

The 37-year-old reaches his 27th first-class fifty at the Ageas Bowl.

He's taking Hampshire to a decent first-innings lead over Yorkshire. 39 and counting.

WICKETpublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 22 June 2018

    Abbott c sub b Lyth 35 (Hampshire 384-8 v Yorkshire 350)

    Breakthrough at last for Yorkshire...

Kyle Abbott skews Adam Lyth towards deep cover where substitute fielder Jordan Thompson takes a smart catch.

Abbott's stand with Gareth Berg was worth 74.

  17. SUSSEX BEAT DURHAMpublished at 17:50 British Summer Time 22 June 2018
    Breaking

    Sussex 552 v Durham 211 & 277

Just two overs required to take the last two wickets.

Ollie Robinson bursts through the defenses of Matt Salisbury to send the batsman on his way for 4.

Nathan Rimmington takes a single off Jofra Archer to move to 49. Chris Rushworth lasts for four balls before offering a caught and bowled chance, which is gratefully accepted.

Sussex move up to second in the table. Durham are 5th.

  18. Essex's batting woes in 2018published at 17:43 British Summer Time 22 June 2018

    Essex 56-3 (target 441)

This is gritty stuff late in the day from Dan Lawrence and Ravi Bopara who have seen off 12 overs so far.

Just looking through the Essex batting averages this season, it's easy to see why they've been struggling compared to their unbeaten campaign in 2017.

No batsman is averaging above 40, several are averaging less than 25. Nobody has made a century. Not title-winning form.

WICKETpublished at 17:36 British Summer Time 22 June 2018

    Chanderpaul c Cox b Morris 28 (Lancs 234-3, target 602)

Worcestershire will sleep like logs now...

Shiv Chanderpaul snicks Charlie Morris behind after looking in decent touch.

It's all on Keaton Jennings now you feel if Lancashire are going to get anything out of the match.

    The deficit is still 368.

  20. Durham eight down at Arundelpublished at 17:36 British Summer Time 22 June 2018

    Sussex 552 v Durham 211 & 268-8 (79.4 overs)

79 runs and 16.2 overs of resistance have been broken by Danny Briggs, who pins Stuart Poynter lbw for a defiant 84.

Matt Salisbury joins Nathan Rimmington in the middle.
