  1. Hampshire 165-1published at 26 overs

    Vince 8, Rossouw 75

Thanks, Brendon. Afternoon, one and all.

Darren Stevens resumes and concedes eight off the 26th over, after Rilee Rossouw reaches 75 with another boundary.

There's an 'oooh' from the crowd as Kent attempt to run out James Vince with the final ball of the over, but the England man got there for a simple single with room to spare.

And with the end of that over I shall bid you farewell for now. My colleague Tom Garry will talk you through the rest of the Hampshire innings.

    Over to you, Tom...

  3. Hampshire 157-1published at 25 overs

Imran Qayyum continues from the other end and generally continues to keep things tight, too - the only blemish there a Rilee Rossouw four through the covers.

As Dimitri Mascarenhas alluded to on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra, you have to question why he wasn't brought into the attack earlier.

At the midway stage Hampshire are 157-1 and look set for a big'un.

  4. Hampshire 149-1published at 24 overs

    Vince 5, Rossouw 63

Rilee Rossouw hasn't always looked totally comfortable at the crease, but he does seem to have taken a bit of a liking to Matt Henry, smashing his second six of the day from the second ball of his latest over.

He may have lost his opening partner, but the intent hasn't changed, that's for sure.

  5. 'Brilliant innings from Tom Alsop'published at 12:37 British Summer Time 30 June 2018

That was lovely bowling from Imran Qayyum and I'm surprised it took so long for Kent to get him on. He's been bowling really well this year and he's just put it in the right spot.

Tom Alsop has had a brilliant innings of 72 from 75 balls.

  6. WATCH: Some of the best shots so farpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 30 June 2018

Tom Alsop and Rilee Rossouw shared 136 for the first wicket.

You can watch some of their best boundaries, including the big six that brought up Rossouw's half-century, below.

  7. Hampshire 140-1published at 23 overs

    Well bowled, Imran Qayyum.

Two dots from the final two deliveries keep the damage to a minimum and it's potentially a big old over for Kent.

  8. Hampshire 140-1published at 22.4 overs

England batsman James Vince strides to the crease and, having survived his first ball, then clips his second away to the boundary.

    He timed that ominously well.

WICKET Alsop (st Billings b Qayyum) 72published at 22.2 overs

    Hampshire 136-1

    And there's the breakthrough!

A flighted delivery from the spinner Imran Qayyum deceives Tom Alsop, who'd taken a couple of steps down the pitch, and Sam Billings whips off the bails with the batsman out of his crease.

    Boy, did Kent need that?

  10. Hampshire 136-0published at 22 overs

    Alsop 71, Rossouw 55

With these two batsmen well set and wickets in hand, what sort of score are we looking at here do we reckon? Something in the region of 330-340 look about right?

Tom Alsop passes 70 with his 11th four off Matt Henry, who hasn't looked overly threatening, it must be said.

Fabian Cowdrey has his wish, though, as Imran Qayyum comes into the attack.

  11. 'Rossouw showing confidence'published at 12:27 British Summer Time 30 June 2018

    Fabian Cowdrey
Ex-Kent all-rounder on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

It was a wonderful shot from Rilee Rossouw to bring up his half-century and a sign of a man in a bit of form and with confidence.

  12. Hampshire 129-0published at 21 overs

All that said, both batsmen are still treating Darren Stevens' bowling with plenty of respect - his medium pace, bowled short of a length, has been difficult to get away.

Just four singles come from that over.

  13. 'Kent desperately need a wicket'published at 12:23 British Summer Time 30 June 2018

    Fabian Cowdrey
Ex-Kent all-rounder on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

I would bring in Imran Qayyum into attack for Kent - it's time for a front line spinner.

Kent desperately need a wicket just to break up one end because at the moment it's looking all too comfortable.

  14. Hampshire 125-0published at 20 overs

    Alsop 63, Rossouw 53

Tom Alsop and Rilee Rossouw have decided enough is enough - it's time to attack.

Having recovered well from that early blow by Rossouw, Matt Henry's final ball is slapped away for four by Alsop as Hampshire move to 125-0.

Goodness me, he's middled that one though!

Matt Henry is back into the attack as Kent desperately search for a breakthrough - but he gets some serious treatment from Rilee Rossouw, who swats him away for the first six of the innings and brings up his half-century in the process.

  16. Hampshire 112-0published at 19 overs

That's a super shot from Tom Alsop, rocking back and chopping Darren Stevens away for four - the first boundary he's conceded as he marches into his fourth over.

Rilee Rossouw then tries to force the issue but skews an attempted drive down to the third man.

  17. Hampshire 104-0published at 18 overs

The 100 is up for Hampshire and the 100 partnership is up for this opening pair.

Having seen his partner reach 50 in the previous over, Rilee Rossouw moves closer to his own half-century with his fifth boundary of the day off Joe Denly.

  18. Alsop grabs his chancepublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 30 June 2018

    Adam Williams
    BBC Sport at Lord's

Tom Alsop has certainly taken his chance at the top of the Hampshire order.

The left-hander didn't feature in the semi-final win against Yorkshire and wasn't an automatic pick during the group stages despite a healthy average of 44 in his four innings before this one.

A great platform for his side has been laid with his attacking intent and it's certainly proving a decent day for the 22-year-old so far.

We seem to be drifting towards those uneventful middle overs that appear to be a thing of the past in one-day international cricket these days, as five more singles come from that Darren Stevens over.
