    Surrey 211 & 203-4 v Lancashire 247

A productive first over takes Surrey's second-innings total past 200 at The Oval. After a leg bye from Tom Bailey's opening delivery, Sam Curran plays him away for three runs before Ben Foakes takes two from the next delivery. Graham Onions will open up at the other end.

  2. Surrey look to extend leadpublished at 13:29 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Surrey 211 & 197-4 v Lancashire 247

It's almost time for action at The Oval where Division One leaders Surrey are 161 runs ahead with six wickets standing. Sam Curran and Ben Foakes are the not out batsmen.

This game is very much in the balance and a good first session by the Lancashire bowlers could undermine Surrey's hopes of a seventh win of the season.

  5. Virdi adjusting to pink ballpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 21 August 2018

    Surrey 211 & 197-4 v Lancashire 247 - match resumes 13:30 BST

Surrey spinner Amar Virdi is relishing the learning experience of a day-night match against Lancashire at The Oval, where the Division One leaders will resume with a 161-run lead in about quarter of an hour.

The off-spinner took 2-54 in Lancashire's first innings and admits he is still adjusting to bowling with a pink ball.

"I think the only thing it is comparable to is bowling with a white ball. I mean obviously it’s a Kookaburra so the seam is slightly different from the Dukes, but it’s not too different, it just goes a bit soft so in the hand it can feel a bit bigger at times," he told BBC Radio London.

"I think we’re in quite a good place. (We want to) Try and bat for as long as we possibly can and then take the game from there. We want to be controlling it like we are now."
