    Lamb lbw Coad 0 (Lancs 87-6 - target 230)

Danny Lamb goes second ball, leg before wicket to Ben Coad.

Lancashire hopes fading rapidly in the Roses match as a third wicket goes down inside 18 balls.

Tom Bailey is the new man in, to join Josh Bohannon.

Seven overs left in the day. At this rate, the visitors will do well to survive them.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Vilas b Coad 10 (Lancs 87-5)

Yorkshire right on top now as Dane Vilas goes too.

Clean bowled by Ben Coad. And the Leeds crowd get even louder.

  3. Surrey off to a flierpublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Worcestershire 336 & 203, Surrey 268 & 5-0

A draw would do it, but Surrey set out on their quest to get the 272 they need to win the game - and the title, although a draw would do it.

    Five off the first over.

  4. Glamorgan hang in there against Glospublished at 17:16 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Division Two round-up

Just two matches still going in Division Two - one seemingly a lot closer to a result than the other...

Kieran Bull and Timm van der Gugten have put on 35 for Glamorgan's ninth wicket as they look to make Gloucestershire bat again at Sophia Gardens.

Glamorgan are 185-8, trailing by 31 runs with Craig Miles taking 4-43.

At Wantage Road Ricardo Vasconcelos is on 59 with Northants 138-2 in their second innings against Derbyshire.

They lead by 171 runs and look likely to give the visitors a hefty victory target.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Livingstone b Brooks 28 (Lancs 81-4)

A huge roar at Headingley. Jack Brooks strikes again.

Liam Livingstone is bowled by the Headband Warrior. The stump goes cartwheeling. The skipper is gone for 28.

145 still needed as Josh Bohannon, in his first Roses match, walks out to join Dane Vilas.

These two put on 139 together to rescue Lancashire and win the game against Worcestershire at Southport just 12 days ago. The Red Rose followers will hope they can do it again. But these are very different circumstances.

The home crowd are well up for this.

Yet another great game of Championship cricket. So why do so few people come and watch it?

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

Pennington lbw Virdi 1 (Worcs 203 all out)

Dillon Pennington is last man out, leg before wicket to spinner Amar Virdi- his third scalp of the innings, although Morne Morkel was the hero with 5-24.

Surrey have been set 272 to win.

  7. 50 partnership for Vijay and Westleypublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Essex 72-1, target 282

Murali Vijay frees himself up to hit two boundaries in three balls and take Essex's second-wicket partnership past 50.

The India batsman is 26 not out with Tom Westley on 21.

Essex are 72-1 and need another 210 runs to win at Trent Bridge.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Tongue c Elgar b T Curran 6 (Worcs 200-9)

Tom Curran gets in on the act with a lifter which Josh Tongue can only fend to Dean Elgar at second slip.

The lead is 268 as last man Dillon Pennington comes in. If that final wicket goes quickly, it could yet be a testing little session for the Surrey openers.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:55 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Croft c Raval b Brooks 13 (Lancs 66-3, target 230)

Steven Croft gives Jack Brooks his first wicket of the day - and Yorkshire's third.

  10. Lancs repair the damagepublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Yorkshire 209 & 272, Lancashire 252 & 65-2

Lancashire captain Liam Livingstone has come in full of intent after the loss of both openers. And he has so far reached 18, putting on 34 with Steven Croft.

Three of those have come in boundaries - and this was the best looking of them.

Still a further 165 needed to win.

14 overs left in the day.

  11. Postpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Essex 56-1, target 282

Amidst all the wickets falling elsewhere, Essex have responded pretty well to losing opener Nick Browne in the fifth over.

Murali Vijay is defensive and dogged on 14 while Tom Westley is scoring more freely at the other end on 17, including four boundaries.

Essex are 56-1, needing a further 226 to win at Trent Bridge.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Parnell b Morkel 2 (Worcs 189-8)

A fifth victim for the almost unplayable Morne Morkel, as he clean bowls fellow South African Wayne Parnell.

Again he does the job coming round the wicket, for his fifth wicket in seven overs.

The Pears have been blown away here. But they still lead by 257. That 68-run first-innings lead must feel a huge cushion right now.

The two Mr Ts, Ben Twohig and Josh Tongue, are at the wicket together. But even the original Mr T himself would be hard pushed to keep out Morkel in this mood.

  13. Somerset escape punishment for pitchpublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

It was the first Championship match to end in a tie for 15 years, but Somerset have been told they could face points penalties in the future after an ECB disciplinary commission looked into their Taunton pitch.

Thirteen of the 22 wickets to fall on day one were taken by spin bowlers - and Jack Leach ended with 12 in the match, which was over in two days.

But Somerset have escaped sanctions for a "below average" pitch.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Clarke c Jacks b Virdi 0 (Worcs 188-7)

Joe Clarke goes first ball. Four deliveries into the next over, he turns it straight into the hands of Will Jacks at short leg to earn spinner Amar Virdi his second wicket.

With only three wickets remaining, Worcestershire lead Surrey by 256 runs.

Surrey might not have been able to clinch the title today, but if they can get these last three wickets cheaply, there is now an increasing chance that they could so so tomorrow.

  15. DURHAM BEAT SUSSEX BY 186 RUNSpublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 12 September 2018
    Breaking

    Durham 103 & 340 v Sussex 122 & 135

That's it at Chester-le-Street - Sussex lose ground on their promotion rivals by falling to a 186-run defeat at Durham.

Twelve wickets for Chris Rushworth and Cameron Steel's 160 were vital contributions for Durham, who bowled the visitors out for 135 in their second innings.

Sussex are 21 points behind second-placed Kent.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

Barnard lbw Morkel 12 (Worcs 187-6)

Four wickets now for Morne Morkel. What a difference he makes for any team.

Ed Barnard is his fourth successive victim in this spell, leg before wicket.

He has struck in all but two of his last six overs.

Jo Clarke now comes to the crease.

  17. Postpublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Sussex 122-9, target 322

Chris Jordan is the ninth wicket to fall and Durham need just one more to seal the win at Chester-le-Street.

Just the 200 runs needed for Sussex.

  18. Postpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Sussex 122-8, target 322

    Adrian Harms
    Sports reporter, BBC Sussex

A remarkable session which has seen 12 wickets fall, and seen Sussex’s promotion chances take a severe turn for the worse.

Durham lost four wickets for eight runs immediately after lunch leaving Sussex 322 to win, but the visitors collapsed to 13-3 and only Tom Haines with a breezy 40 offered any resistance.

Yet again Chris Rushworth was the architect of Sussex’s downfall taking four more wickets to add to his haul of 8-51 in the first innings, but in truth the Sussex batting has looked desperately short of confidence, and they need a minor miracle if they are to win this game.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

Browne lbw Footitt 11 (Essex 17-1, target 282)

Mark Footitt gets Nick Browne lbw as he's caught hitting around across the full, straight ball.

Essex 17-1 against Notts chasing 282 to win at Trent Bridge.

Tom Westley in to join debutant Murali Vijay - Essex need a solid partnership.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Whiteley b Morkel 10 (Worcestershire 181-5)

Ross Whiteley is fifth man out at New Road - a third victim for Morne Morkel, who looks helpless as the big South African comes round the wicket to bowl him with a fast one.

Wayne Parnell is next man in. Still no Joe Clarke.

The hosts' lead is up to 249.
