    Mullaney c Wheater b Harmer 53 (Notts 299-7, lead by 243)

Five-for for Simon Harmer and Notts skipper Steven Mullaney goes for 53.

He nicks Harmer behind to Adam Wheater and Notts are 299-7 in their second innings, leading Essex by 243 with three wickets remaining.

Harmer's 5-69 has rescued the defending champions from a sticky situation at Trent Bridge.

    Bresnan c & b Maharaj 20 (Yorks 209 & 254-9, Lancs 252)

Tim Bresnan is ninth man out. A return catch to spinner Keshav Maharaj.

Hard to know just what shot he was playing there, but it loops back to Maharaj off a leading edge.

Yorkshire lead Lancashire by 211 runs as last man Ben Coad comes out to bat.

This is so tight. Tense. Gritty. Just like any good Roses match should be.

Tim: Still early but if Worcestershire manage to beat Surrey I think they will earn a few new supporters, especially those over in Somerset.

Right on cue Simon Harmer gets a fourth wicket. Figures of 4-65.

It's quick thinking from Essex keeper Adam Wheater, who stumps Tom Moores for 15.

Notts are 290-6 at Trent Bridge as Samit Patel enters the fray - they could do with further extending their lead of 234.

    'There's only one Simon Harmer'.

What Essex would give to have two Simon Harmers in this Notts innings - the spinner has three wickets, while his team-mates struggle to make an impact.

Unfortunately it's debutant Murali Vijay on the left, though he's done a good job with the bat for Essex so far.

Steve Mullaney on 48 for Notts, who are 289-5 at Trent Bridge.

    Westbury lbw Virdi 15 (Worcs 336 & 91-2, Surrey 268)

Ollie Westbury is the next to fall at New Road, having made 15 to follow his first-innings 22 on his debut.

The bottom-of-the-table Pears now lead by 159 runs.

  10. Tykes earn 200-run lead at Headingleypublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Yorkshire 209 & 244-7, Lancashire 252

Yorkshire now lead by 205 runs at Headingley.

How big a psychological barrier will that be in this Roses match?

Tim Bresnan has moved on to 19.

And his efforts are followed a glorious boundary through the covers from home skipper Steve Patterson.

    NottsImage source, Rex Features

Steven Mullaney's 35 from 51 balls has upped Notts' run-rate at Trent Bridge and they're racing towards the 300 mark against Essex. He has a 50 partnership with Tom Moores from just 54 deliveries.

Will Essex rue giving the new ball to the seamers rather then the likes of Simon Harmer?

Notts 275-5 in their second innings, with a lead of 219.

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

Seven wickets have fallen in 5.5 overs since lunch, for the addition of just 19 runs.

Paul Collingwood's departure for 47, fourth ball after lunch, set the ball rolling as Durham fell from 336-6 to 340 all out.

But Chris Rushworth has now taken two quick wickets at the start of the Sussex second innings and Matt Salisbury a third with Phil Salt, Luke Wells and Harry Finch all going for none.

For the third time in his career, Rushworth has 10 wickets in a match.

We've had seven wickets for just 25 runs since lunch at Chester-le-Street!

First Durham collapsed from 332-6 to 340 all out.

Now third-placed Sussex - chasing 322 to win - are reduced to 17-3, with Durham's Chris Rushworth on 10 wickets in the match.

Matthew Waite is the first victim of the new ball as Graham Onions earns an LBW decision.

Then another big shout follows as Steve Patterson is rapped on the pads first ball. And another one is also turned down two balls later, followed by a swing and a miss from the Tykes skipper.

    Notts 177 & 242-5 v Essex 233

Essex take the new ball one over after it becomes available at Trent Bridge.

Jamie Porter and Matt Coles are warmed up, with Coles to bowl with it first.

    Mitchell c Burns b Clarke 15 (Worcs 336 & 65-1, Surrey 268)

Rikki Clarke makes the first breakthrough, getting Daryl Mitchell caught behind by a stunning catch from Surrey skipper Rory Burns at second slip.

Clarke took a goodun of his own at second slip in the first innings, low to his left. But this one is even better - a one-handed grab just above the turf diving to his right.

Tom Fell is now on 41 as the Pears' lead moves on to 134.

New man in is debutant Ollie Westbury.

  17. Durham collapse after lunchpublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 12 September 2018

    Division Two round-up

Durham were 332-6 at lunch but 2.5 overs later have been bowled out for 340. Third-placed Sussex need 321 at Chester-le-Street and have ample time. Is their promotion bid back on?

Neil Dexter has fallen for Leicestershire, who are 88-5 against Warwickshire and need another 212 runs to make the Bears bat again. Fair to say Warwickshire look favourites to return to the top of the table.

Glamorgan have recovered somewhat to 35-3, having been 6-3 at lunch against Gloucestershire, but they still trail by 181 runs in their second innings. Will Gloucestershire need to bat again?

Ben Sanderson has his 50th wicket of the season for Northants, who have Derbyshire 217-9 in reply to their first innings total of 255.

Duckett lbw Westley 17 (Notts 222-5, lead by 166)

Notts lose Ben Duckett to part-time off-spinner Tom Westley.

It's a fourth lbw of the innings and arguably the harshest - was the ball going to turn enough?

Duckett gone for 17 and Notts 222-5 in their second innings, leading Essex by 166 with Tom Moores in to join skipper Steve Mullaney.

    Yorkshire lead by 183 runs.

Will it have any impact and earn Lancashire the four cheap wickets they need?

Onions and Tom Bailey have been the two most prolific wicket takers in the top flight this season. Both have claimed over 50 scalps - 109 between them, in fact.
