The penultimate day of the county season was principally about goodbyes.

Jonathan Trott ended his Warwickshire career with a win over Kent that secured the Division Two title.

But for Trott's former England team-mate Paul Collingwood, there was disappointment as Durham came up short against Middlesex in his last game after being set a target of only 167.

There were also victories for Somerset, Lancashire Yorkshire, Gloucestershire and Glamorgan, so just one match remains for the final day of the season - as new champions Surrey try to preserve their unbeaten record against last season's title-holders Essex.

We'll be here again from about 10:15 BST to describe the denouement at The Oval.

What a shame.

Just six runs short of a century, Leicestershire number 10 Dieter Klein is lbw to Timm van der Gugten and Glamorgan end their season with a second victory.

Klein hit a six and 15 fours and added 96 with Gavin Griffiths, who ends 36 not out, a new 10th-wicket record for Leicestershire against the Welsh county.

Glamorgan take 23 points and Leicestershire 3.

Middlesex pick up their seventh win of the season and will surely be a tough nut for any side to crack in the second division next year. They finish fourth in the table.

Durham finish 8th in the table and they have huge boots to fill with the retirement of their leading run-scorer in Paul Collingwood.

It looks like Durham aren't going to give Paul Collingwood a winning send-off as he heads into retirement.

He was bowled by an unplayable ball that kept low in his final innings and had a rueful expression on his face as he took the long walk back to the dressing room for the last time.

Can Dieter Klein make a century for Leicestershire? He's certainly giving it his best shot with a six and a four in Timm van der Gugten's last over to take him to 84 not out.

In theory there are only six overs left in the day - but presumably Glamorgan will ask for an extra half hour?

Stuart Poynter isn't quite finished yet as he crashes Ethan Bamber to the fence for his third four to move to 20.

A single off the fifth and Rushworth sees out the over.

Very much Surrey's day at The Oval as Jason Roy and Ollie Pope hit centuries to revive their hopes of finishing the season unbeaten.

Roy made 128 and Pope 114, but Mark Stoneman missed out on a hundred when he fell to spinner Stuart Harmer for 86.

Will Jacks was 52 not out at the close after an unbroken partnership of 59 with Ryan Patel, but their lead is only 67 and the job isn't done yet.

A big moment for Will Jacks as he reaches his maiden Championship fifty with a single off Matt Coles. It's taken him 79 balls and included two sixes and five fours, but there hasn't been much aggression of late as Essex continue to keep things tight. Surrey lead by 66.

Having been 102-8, Leicestershire have more than doubled their score since then and Dieter Klein and Gavin Griffiths have now added 58 for the last wicket. Klein has a career-best 69 and Griffiths 25 after both found the boundary in Timm van der Gugten's latest over.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore plays a flashing drive off Twohig and the ball flies over the slips for four.

Scores level. One more run needed - but Yorkshire won't get it in this over.
