  2. Bears close to victorypublished at 13:36 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Warwks 380 v Kent 167 & 150-8 (Trail by 63)

Three slips in for Chris Wright.

Billings picks up a couple more boundaries off the second and fourth balls and a single off the last ball takes Kent to 150.

Cue some very muted applause as the Bears move closer to ending the season in style.

  3. ouch!

Harris retires hurtpublished at 13:34 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Middlesex 121 & 322-6 v Durham 310

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

The Middlesex all-rounder James Harris has had to leave the field. Barry McCarthy has been raining down some short and sharp stuff but Harris, who was on 12, misjudged one delivery and ducked into it.

The ball smashed into the side of his helmet and he went down onto his knees after throwing away his headware. Although he didn't look too badly hurt he was clearly shaken up so the physio took the decision to take him off the field.

  4. Pears lose three in nine ballspublished at 13:33 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Worcs 340 & 131-6 v Yorks 428 (Lead by 43)

Shot! Ben Cox takes the fight to the Tykes and drives the other Ben (Coad) to the fence for four.

The bowler drifts to leg and Cox leaves it alone.

  5. Division Two round-uppublished at 13:30 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

Here's the latest in Division Two away from Edgbaston...

At Derby, Gloucestershire are slowly but surely batting their way to victory over Derbyshire. Benny Howell now has 51 not out and they are 129-4, just 50 runs short of their target.

Middlesex are still six down in their second innings against Durham at the Riverside. Martin Andersson is 33 not out and they are 322-6 - a lead of 133.

Leicestershire have made a poor start to their run-chase in Cardiff, with Ateeq Javid and Colin Ackermann already out. They are 16-2 and need another 387 to win.

  6. Kent rocked by the Bearspublished at 13:29 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Warwks 380 v Kent 167 & 141-8 (Trail by 72)

Billings is possibly a bit shell-shocked after the carnage at the other end and he plays out a maiden, bowled by Ryan Sidebottom.

Harry Podmore survives against Chris Wright at the other end and the gap is now a daunting 72.

  7. Essex strive for breakthroughpublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Surrey 67 & 226-1 v Essex 477-8 dec

No change of fortune for Essex in the immediate post-lunch period at The Oval.

A cover drive for four by Mark Stoneman off Jamie Porter has helped move him on to 79 not out, while partner Jason Roy has 119.

Surrey still 183 short of parity.

    Worcs 340 & 122-6 v Yorks 428 (Lead by 34)

Ben Coad takes two wickets in three balls!

First Alex Milton edges off a defensive push to the keeper for 10.

Then Ed Barnard plays a horribly loose drive off the back foot and Jack Leaning takes a superb diving catch at head height third slip.

  9. Barker off the fieldpublished at 13:23 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Warwickshire 380 v Kent 167 & 135-8

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at Edgbaston

Keith Barker went off injured this morning and he's not back on after lunch.

It's almost certain now that those two earlier wickets will his last for the Bears after confirmation that he will join Hampshire next season.

WICKET Stewart c Bell b Wrightpublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    And another!

Chris Wright makes it two wickets in four balls!

Grant Stewart pushes and edges to Ian Bell at third slip.

This is becoming a bit of a procession now and Kent may not better their first innings at this rate.

  15. Stevens at the crease for Kentpublished at 13:13 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Warwks 380 v Kent 167 & 134-6 (Trail by 79)

Darren Stevens is hurried by Sidebottom first up and just gets some bat on his first ball just in time.

The ball dribbles away to the on side and he takes a single.

Billings keeps out an inswinger and blocks the last ball out to the on side.

  16. What would Durham be comfortable chasing?published at 13:11 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Middlesex 121 & 316-6 v Durham 310

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

Middlesex suffered an early morning wobble when losing four wickets for 11 runs, but they have rallied again in the sunshine, which seems to have helped the batsmen in this game.

At lunch they are ahead by 127 runs with James Harris 11 not out and Martin Andersson on 31. Harris was dropped in the slips just before lunch by Paul Collingwood, but it was a difficult chance following an edge from a Barry McCarthy delivery.

Collingwood and McCarthy are playing in their last matches for Durham. Collingwood is retiring at 42 while Irishman McCarthy is being released because he out of contract.

Durham are not prepared to offer him a contract as an overseas player next year following changes to Ireland's Test status.

Is Colly playing without socks? Or is he wearing those cut-down, below-the-ankle ones? Vital information - we must know!

  17. Play resumes at New Roadpublished at 13:10 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Worcs 340 & 120-3 v Yorks 428 (Lead by 32)

Yorkshire will be more than a little irritated by Moeen Ali's innings so far.

He's taken the airborne route a few times and got away with it in 65 off 71 balls to date and a challenging lead is certainly possible while he remains at the crease.

Alex Milton had a couple of close shaves off Jack Brooks before lunch but he's battled through to 10 not out.

  18. Afternoon session begins at Edgbastonpublished at 13:08 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Warwks 380 v Kent 167 & 133-6 (Trail by 80)

Sam Billings and Kent have a mountain to climb here after the loss of Zak Crawley lbw to an absolute pearler from Ryan Sidebottom just before the break.

Three balls left in the bowler's over.

    Darren Stevens will face.

It has almost been a symbolic handover of power in the Warwickshire pace department in Birmingham this morning.

Five Kent wickets have gone down to leave the Bears within touching distance of the Division Two title.

The first two were taken by left-armer Keith Barker in what has now become his farewell appearance following the lunchtime announcement of the former professional footballer’s winter move to Hampshire.

But the next three were shared by the men who are the Bears’ future, Aussie Ryan Sidebottom and England’s Test and ODI tour selection, Olly Stone.

An expectant Edgbaston crowd are expecting this one to be wrapped up just after lunch.
