  1. wicket

WICKET Raval b Pennington 13published at 16:05 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Worcs 340 & 221 v Yorks 428 & 39-1 (Target 134)

I'm not sure Jeet Raval could've kept that one out.

An absolute jaffa from Dillon Pennington, which spears in back of a length to clip the top of the off stump.

The Pears have a glimmer of hope.

  2. Murtagh piles on the pressurepublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Durham 310 & 30-1 v Middx 121 & 355 (Target 167)

Just the one run off his seventh over as Steel is happy to leave the ball outside the off.

Another couple of wickets could bring the visitors back into this.

At the other end James Fuller replaces Ethan Bamber.

  3. Modest Trott bids farewellpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

This is the best photo we've seen today, Jonathan Trott embracing the future - literally - after walking off the field at Edgbaston for the final time, having helped Warwickshire clinch the Division Two title.

    It's been quite a career - 52 Tests, 68 one-dayers and seven T20 internationals; 18,662 first-class runs including 46 centuries and 92 50s.

"Making the decision I did in May gave me a new lease of life and allowed me to enjoy this last season," the 37-year-old said.

“It’s not about me. It’s about this being a good day for the club. I’ve always preferred to be just one of the guys.

“Belly’s going to be around for another season, or two seasons, or whatever. But there are other guys waiting in the wings to come though."

  4. Lyth and Raval at the crease for White Rosepublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Worcs 340 & 221 v Yorks 428 & 27-0 (Target 134)

Dillon Pennington bowls a no-ball and Adam Lyth clips the ball away to square leg for four, so six conceded.

The next ball is quicker and Lyth lets it go through to the keeper.

Another no-ball and a single to end the over, which cost 13 runs.

Yorkshire are well on their way.

  5. 100 runs

for Ollie Popepublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Surrey 67 & 387-4 v Essex 477-8 dec

    Ollie PopeImage source, Getty Images

Magnificent batting by England's Ollie Pope who hits a four and a six at the start of a new Matt Quinn over and then hooks a short ball for another boundary to reach a 97-ball century.

He still hasn't done and punches the ball away off the back foot for another as the over costs the Eassex paceman 18 runs.

Surrey now only 27 behind - surely it's out of the question that the champions can win this match, isn't it?

  6. Murtagh strikes early for Middlesexpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Durham 310 & 29-1 v Middx 121 & 355 (Target 167)

Gareth Harte gets a rising ball off a length from Tim Murtagh and the ball just evades the edge.

He's down the track for the next ball and nudges the ball to fine leg for a couple.

    39 overs left tonight.

  7. Leics tail holds up Glamorganpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Glamorgan 359 & 175 v Leicestershire 132 & 147-8

Glamorgan may have thought the job was almost done when they picked up the wicket of Ben Mike.

Callum Parkinson and Dieter Klein have other ideas, though, and two fours by the latter off Kieran Bull's off-spin brings up a half-century partnership.

Klein is 32 not out and Parkinson has 23.

  8. Slow start for White Rosepublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Worcs 340 & 221 v Yorks 428 & 9-0 (Target 134)

Adam Lyth drives Ed Barnard down the ground for his first run.

He's faced 12 balls. No giveaways here.

He picks up another with a leg side clip off Pennington at the other end.

Lovely shot from Jeet Raval, who clips the fourth ball away to square leg for four.

A play and miss off the last ball.

  9. wicket

WICKET Foakes lbw Quinn 32published at 15:41 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Surrey 67 & 364-4 v Essex 477-8 dec

Ben Foakes moves across his stumps but fails to make contact with the ball and Matt Quinn has the breakthrough. It looked a little bit high but the umpire is happy it was hitting the stumps.

Foakes put on 115 with Ollie Pope, who is still there on 83 as Will Jacks joins him on a pair.

  10. wicket

WICKET Lees lbw b Murtagh 22published at 15:37 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Durham 310 & 27-1 v Middx 121 & 355 (Target 167)

    There's the breakthrough!

Alex Lees is trapped on the crease and pinned plumb in front by Tim Murtagh.

    Gareth Harte's turn to bat.

Essex hope new ball brings rewardspublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Surrey 67 & 358-3 v Essex 477-8 dec

Unsurprisingly, the new ball has been taken straight after tea at The Oval.

Ollie Pope square cuts Jamie Porter for four before taking a single, and Ben Foakes survives an lbw shout before the over comes to an end.

    Surrey now just 47 behind.

  12. Steady start for Lees and Steelpublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Durham 310 & 27-0 v Middx 121 & 355 (Target 167)

A brace of fours for Alex Lees off Tim Murtagh and this game is drifting away from Middlesex somewhat.

For now. Ethan Bamber beats Cameron Steel outside off stump.

A minimum of 42 overs left tonight.

  13. Barnard on first for the Pearspublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Worcs 340 & 21 v Yorks 428 & 1-0

The bowler goes around the wicket and Adam Lyth plays and misses.

Don't take anything for granted here.

A leg bye off the fifth ball and the White Rose are on their way.

Jeet Raval leaves the last ball outside the off.

  14. Yorkshire chase 134published at 15:28 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Worcs 340 & 221 v Yorks 428 & 0-0 (Target 134)

A minimum of 41 overs remain tonight as the umpires make their way to the middle.

Jeet Raval and Adam Lyth will get the chase started.

It shouldn't be a testing target - but that doesn't mean it won't be!

    Ed Barnard to bowl.

  15. Postpublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

Among the Essex contingent at The Oval for their final game of the summer against Surrey is long-serving wicketkeeper James Foster, who is retiring to pursue a career in coaching.

BBC Essex caught up with him for a chat - and you can hear it below.

  16. Durham chase 167published at 15:24 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Durham 310 & 19-0 v Middx 121 & 355

Alex Lees gets an edge off Tim Murtagh and the ball runs away for four.

The latest is that Ollie Rayner, after substituting for the injured James Harris, will not be allowed to bowl.

147 to win and 45 overs left tonight.

  17. Bears worked 'incredibly hard' - Troughtonpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

Warwkickshire 380 beat Kent 167 & 179 by an inns and 34 runs

Warwickshire are celebrating winning the Division Two title following their innings victory over Kent.

Head coach Jim Troughton said it was a day of mixed feelings, but a proud one for the club.

“To beat the other best team in the league in two and a half days is a fantastic way to finish," he said.

“There is a certain sadness about it because we are saying goodbye to Chris Wright and Keith Barker, who have been absolute legends at this club, and Jonathan Trott, who has done so much for this club and his country.

“It's great that Trotty's family were here to see the fantastic reaction from everyone towards him. It's been a privilege to be alongside him with the Bears for so long.

"To walk away from this season not only promoted, but with a trophy is only right for this group of players who have worked incredibly hard. I am very proud of them."

    Maiden from Tim Murtagh.

Alex Lees drives Bamber for a couple of twos.

The debate rages on about the substitution earlier.

The grey area seems to be what constitutes "exceptional circumstances."

A leg bye off the sixth ball.

Only 53 more needed now to avoid an innings defeat.
