  15. Middlesex slump at Riversidepublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

    Middlesex 121 & 277-6 v Durham 310

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

We weren't sure if Chris Rushworth would bowl today because of a stiff back. He didn't join in the bowling warm-up, but did have the ball in his hand for the second over of the day and soon had the two wickets needed to reach 400 in the Championship for Durham.

Paul Collingwood, playing in his last match before retirement, got a wicket with his third delivery yesterday and today claimed his second as Middlesex skipper Dawid Malan pulled him to mid-wicket to depart on 43.

At that point Middlesex had lost 4-11 in the morning session, but with the new ball taken it looks like we may have seen the last of Collingwood as a bowler.

    Hampshire 187 & 198 v Lancashire 273 & 20-0

After a dot ball by Kyle Abbott, he hits five - repeat FIVE - successive fours from the opening over of Lancashire's run-chase at the Ageas Bowl. No wonder his nickname is Jet.

The Red Rose county need another 93 for victory.

  20. Double treblespublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 26 September 2018

Earlier on we described how Somerset's Craig Overton followed team-mate Tom Abell's lead by taking a hat-trick against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge 9see 10:40 entry).

There are many instances of two hat-tricks being taken in the same first-class match, including eight players who have achieved the feat individually.

The most recent of those was in November 2017, when Australia paceman Mitchell Starc took a hat-trick in each innings of New South Wales' Sheffield Shield game against Western Australia.
