If Tim Murtagh had had an opportunity with the new ball here...
Jorfra Archer responds with two dot balls to finish his fourth over. Will he get another or be saved for the death now?
The game is only 45 overs a side so bowlers have a max of nine overs.

How would you describe that shot, Charles?
Four more. Paul Stirling skips down at Jofra Archer, who bangs it in short. But Stirling adjusts and manages to work it round the corner, with Adil Rashid a tad slow to get there as the ball runs away to the fence.
A remarkable shot from Stirling. Archer exhales.

Paul Stirling is not going to be dictated to. He is a fine white-ball player.
Again, not that bad a delivery from Jofra Archer, but Stirling has really maneuvered the ball with such quick hands.
Another emphatic four from Paul Stirling off Jofra Archer.
Only a bit of a width and Stirling rolls his wrists brilliantly to crack it to the fence just in front of point.
Stirling chips in the direction of Morgan but just far enough away from the England captain's dive for a single.

That may have just offered a little bit of inswing from Willey. Just a touch of movement, but just enough.
David Willey beats the bat again but again can't follow it up as he strays down leg to concede a wide.
Yeesh. He's bowling well to the right-handed Paul Stirling, mind. The burly opener charges down and tries to hoik into leg, misses and the ball evades the stumps by an inch or two.

Better over from Archer, much tighter line and revving up his pace.
The last lifts off a length past the outside edge of Stirling's bat.
If he's getting that bounce on a sodden, green pitch, wowzer...
Jofra Archer gets one to nip back off the seam at William Porterfield and into the pads. Too high for lbw though.
Excellent pace - that was 88mph.

There's a sense with William that this is a very important innings for him. He's struggled for form in the past few years.
David Willey follows that six by just conceding a single...
...scratch that, Eoin Morgan fumbles the last in the covers and Ireland steal another single. So eight off the over.

That was William Porterfield's first six in ODI cricket since March 2018. In his past 11 one-day innings he has scored 116 runs at an average of 11.
Short boundaries at Malahide. William Porterfield miscues a pull shot and skies it up off the top edge but he threw his hands at it and got enough on it to carry the ball well over the rope.

Paul Stirling is looking in very good form at the moment. He looks assured, the ball hitting the middle of his bat.
Paul Stirling jabs Jofra Archer up and over the infield. The ground is wet so no chance that's getting away to the ropes and Dawid Malan chases after it to keep Ireland to two.
Bang! Another sweet drive from Stirling, in between cover and mid-off and finding the fence.
