I'm all out of Ronan Keating lyrics. I admit I even had to google it to check he did say something about spinning in Life is a Rollercoaster.

    Can you do better?

Anyway, double spin for England as Joe Denly is into the attack.

He's the second of three leg-spinners in this England squad, on the basis of Jofra Archer doing his best Shane Warne impression in the warm-up.

  2. Ire 80-4published at 18 overs

Very tidy over to start by Adil Rashid, including a big ripping googly. Just one from the over.

Talking of Ronan Keating, can Adil Rashid really get Ireland's tail in a spin? So much so that they don't even know where to begin?

OK, the Yorkshire leg-spinner will have to work through the rest of the middle order first.

    Anyway, here comes Rashid...

Ronan Keating is a big cricket fan. You can see him down in the village having a coffee.

Those two hours freezing in the stands were swiftly forgotten for the Irish fans as the opening pair piled on the runs to give them hope that this could be a special day.

It was the perfect start for the Boys in Green and captain William Porterfield, who came into the game in rotten form, looked assured after a nervy first over while Paul Stirling was at his bustling, blasting best.

But it's all change at Malahide and it's time to steady the Irish ship and the experience of in-form stroke player Andrew Balbirnie is vital as England gain the upper hand.

  6. Ire 79-4published at 17 overs

    Balbirnie 10, Wilson 1

New man Gary Wilson gets off the mark, defending into his pads and scampering through for a quick single.

He got out in front of himself, just slicing. A little too much, too early.

That was perhaps a little ambitious for a man who has just come in.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 15.5 overs

    O'Brien c Denly b Curran 4 (Ire 77-4)

Kevin O'Brien will not be blasting Ireland to victory with the bat today.

Full length from Tom Curran, O'Brien tries to crack it away but the ball deflects off an outside edge for Joe Denly to take a superb diving catch at backward point.

Big shot to play after just coming in and it's O'Brien's downfall. Another fine wicket for Curran.

Can England keep this up and run through the rest of the order?

Look who is here - the big man! If ever there was a man for a big occasion, it's Kevin.

I am slightly biased, I will admit, but that's a cracking shot. It's a slow outfield but that got to the outfield rapid.

  12. Ire 74-3published at 15 overs

Kevin O'Brien, England's nemesis, wallops his first delivery through the covers for four.

    Great shot that, Kev.

That's the strength of Plunkett. He runs in, hits the ball into the pitch, then he bowls that little cunning slower ball. Maybe a bit of inexperience showing from Lorcan Tucker, who was through that shot too early.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14.5 overs

    Tucker c Morgan b Plunkett 7 (Ire 70-3)

Straight after flicking fine for four, Lorcan Tucker has chipped the simplest of catches to Eoin Morgan in the covers.

He's through the shot early as the ball stops in the pitch a tad.

It's straight at Morgan, who makes no mistake.

Liam Plunkett hasn't been at his best but has picked up two wickets already today.

  16. Ire 64-2published at 14 overs

    Run rate 4.57

Andrew Balbirnie clips the last away through the leg side for two. No chance of the ball running all the way to the fence on this damp outfield.

Tom Curran zips his first delivery at Lorcan Tucker into the pads.

Looks good, massive appeal, not given.

Will England review? Nope. Ben Foakes looks to have suggested it was going over.
