It was some of the cleanest striking I've seen. That was high quality. We played India at the same ground and got a tie, so 320 would only have been par, really.

It was a great day for Ireland. The dressing rooms at Bangalore are quite tight and there was a lot of celebrating going on! It wasn't a great moment but what you do recognise is Kevin O'Brien played one of the most incredible innings.

The umpires have appeared a little bit ahead of schedule - I'm not sure if that's a good sign or not...

Bangalore is a very flat wicket and the ball travels, as you saw with Kevin O'Brien. I've tried to blank that one out of the memory!

Hey! Remember the 2011 World Cup when England posted 327-8 against Ireland but then Kevin O'Brien went ballistic, hitting 113 to lead his side to a famous three-wicket win?

Poor Ian Bell is being asked to relive it over on TMS.

Another delay and while it's a pain in the proverbial for fans and journos, spare a thought for the six debutants as their nervous wait drags on.

Jofra Archer is the man in the spotlight and he makes his first England appearance while it's an ODI debut too for Dawid Malan and Ben Foakes.

Ireland's trio includes teenage pace bowler Josh Little and middle-order batsman Lorcan Tucker, while it could be a fairytale first Ireland cap for Mark Adair after he was called up on Wednesday as a replacement for injured bowler Stuart Thompson.

The hope is that they can cement themselves in the side as a youthful balance to Ireland's large contingent of over 30s.

The umpires are on the outfield prodding at the grass with their toes, and then their heels.

    It's a very scientific process.

Horrible feeling it's not nearly warm enough in Malahide to dry the outfield.

It hasn't rained here since 16:00 yesterday afternoon. There's blue sky up there - it's chilly, and it's not the most welcoming cricketing weather, if I'm honest. People are arriving muffled up. It's just a rather frustrating picture.

I'm six weeks post-op so I've just got off my crutches two days ago. I've got the green light to start my rehab properly now - it's going to be a lot of walking then building up to some running.

Benjy: Hasn’t the Alex Hales incident given us the perfect chance to pick Archer and not have to drop any other bowlers? If one of the batsmen get injured we can call up a replacement anyway. Job done.

Some breaking news for you... discarded England batsman Alex Hales has been named in Nottinghamshire's team to face Durham in the One-Day Cup.

It is the 30-year-old's first appearance since being removed from England's World Cup squad on Monday.

It's very soft underfoot - Ireland are more keen than England to get going. I understand that, though... the last thing England need is for one of their players to get injured before the World Cup.

Any day without rain in cricket, and especially in Ireland, is a good day but while the sun shines we sit frustrated by the delay in the start of play.

Just a few fluffy clouds drift above this beautiful village ground, surrounded by trees in fine health in the grounds of Malahide Castle.

This is Ireland's glamour home game of the season and a chance to take the scalp of their nearest and dearest.

There are concerns over the form of Irish captain William Porterfield and the opener will be desperate for a decent knock today.

Ireland's only ODI win over England came at the 2011 World Cup and they need a good showing here to set them up for the Tri-Nation series against West Indies and Bangladesh.
