Eng 147-2published at 20 overs
Root 52, Morgan 21
Only four boundaries have come between overs 11 and 20. Two of them have come in the last two overs. Pakistan's spinners had quietened things down but you can't keep England down for too long.

Pakistan's collapse from 152-3 began with Rashid's fine run-out of Babar (80)
Leg-spinner then took excellent return catch to dismiss Malik
Buttler completes trio of special feats in field with superb run-out of Sarfaraz (97)

England are just starting to up it again. The boundary that gave Root fifty is followed by Morgan clubbing one into the wide open space in the leg-side.

Joe Root's half-century came from 37 balls with seven fours. He hit six fours in first 14 balls and he's struck just one boundary since then.
This is his 44th score of 50 or more in one-day cricket and he's currently averaging 50.05 in this format.

It's a wonderful 50. The strike-rate has been very impressive.
Rooooooooooot. There's a familiar cry going around Headingley. Without particularly trying the England Test captain has a fifty from 37 balls. It's his 30th in ODI cricket. A remarkably consistent player.
I got ridiculously sunburnt at Headingley last year but I take Steph's point. That's wasn't the ground's fault, I got burnt in March this year. It's a lovely venue.
Morgan plays the first attacking shot in a while to Shoaib Malik, lofting the off-spinner down over the infield but a fielder jogs round to stop the boundary.

Cards on the table, I was a huge fan of the old stand at the Football Ground End. Wooden, ramshackle, great view, good bar. However, the new stand is a pretty good replacement. Same intimate feel, comfy seats, but also a roomy concourse. Headingley remains a great place to watch cricket.
Root 41, Morgan 10
More singles from England. Get on with it, lads.
Drinks are coming onto the field.
We've seen some stunning shots from England. 17 boundaries came in the first 10 overs. I think this one was the best so far...

England are in a good position to declare, the way they're going...
Root 39, Morgan 8
We've had three different Pakistani spinners bowling in the last three overs. They haven't conceded a boundary in any of them.
Morgan is taking his time to get in with eight runs from his first 14 balls. There's still plenty of time to get 400-plus.

We saw such great aggression from the two openers. However I do think Root and Morgan are doing the right thing - they realise it is a good pitch but they're just getting themselves in. Joe started off quickly but he's recognised that two wickets are down, Morgan is new to the crease, and they're just knocking it around.
Root 37, Morgan 7
England are just taking stock after the madness of the first 10 overs and the loss of Bairstow. Jonny is on the balcony biting his nails and he doesn't look in a much better mood than when he got out.
Another quiet over of spin goes by.

Shadab Khan will vastly improve Pakistan's World Cup squad. They have missed his leg-spin in this series. He's been out with an illness. It's good news that he'll be fit for the World Cup.
Ctrl+V - James Vince falls for an entertaining 33.

Pakistan have gone back to their strike bowler Hassan Ali with new man Morgan at the crease. Hassan almost creates a wicket in an unconventional manner as he bumps into Joe Root when the England number three is jogging a single and then Root has to dive to make his ground at the other end.
It's all friendly still. Just an accident.

I remember in a meeting three or four years ago where someone said a team will get 500 at some point, and no-one batted an eyelid. Today you felt it was a real possibility - the only thing that could stop England, I felt, was if they became a bit overconfident, and we may have just seen that in the dismissal of Jonny Bairstow.
It was almost as though it was a last minute decision to play the shot, he was just hitting from a standing position. He hadn't quite been hitting the ball as crisply today and he'll be desperately disappointed.
England hit 17 boundaries in the first 10 overs. Our poor video man is sweating buckets in a dark room upstairs.
Here are just three of the 17.

That was the first over in which England have not scored a boundary.
