Right on cue, Chris Woakes bowls easily his best ball of the day, zipped down the corridor of uncertainty with a bit of lift to take it just past James McCollum's outside edge.

Ireland probably can't believe what's happening. They would always have thought their best chance to win was bowling first, but they still lost the toss, and this opening England pair have been a little bit wayward.
