Aus 195-4published at 39 overs
I think this is called rotating the strike. Moeen Ali is brought back into the attack and Australia continue to nudge the ball around for four singles. The run-rate is now exactly five an over.
Smith hit 116 for Australia in his side's 297-9
England bowled out for 285 - Vince top scores with 64
Smith & Warner were playing against England for first time since ball-tampering bans
Warner hit 43 before holing out in the deep
Both Smith & Warner booed when they walked out to bat & at milestones

I think this is called rotating the strike. Moeen Ali is brought back into the attack and Australia continue to nudge the ball around for four singles. The run-rate is now exactly five an over.
Liam Dawson continues and England crank up the pressure, with an extra man brought into the off side for Marcus Stoinis to give himself something to think about. Just the three singles from the over as Australia trundle along.
Now, what does Steve Smith do now? He looked primed to free his arms but that wicket may force a quick re-think for now. Tom Curran continues and is again proving tough to get away, conceding just a single off the first ball.

Marcus Stoinis is walking out with his bat held by the meaty bit of the wood - he's enormous, and built like Thor.

Jos Buttler has missed a couple of stumping chances recently but could make no mistake there. As easy as you like.
Khawaja st Buttler b Dawson 31 (Aus 187-4)
Breakthrough! Liam Dawson has allowed the pressure to build and Usman Khawaja finally cracked. He came marching down the track, gave himself room, but completely missed the ball, presenting Jos Buttler with a routine stumping.

There have been eight fours in the last 25 overs.
Tom Curran is back - he went 0-15 from his first five overs. It was all very sedate until the final ball when Steve Smith decided he had enough and powered a shot over long-on for a one-bounce four.

Steve Smith has had his problems with left-arm spin - he was tying himself up in knots with it in South Africa before he got banned.
Smith 51, Khawaja 28
More economical stuff from Liam Dawson, who is now into his fifth over. Singles all the way once more for Australia.
34 overs gone, time to accelerate soon?

I didn't mind them heckling Smith when he came in, but I don't like to see people getting stuck in when a player has brought up a milestone.

The applause for Steve Smith's fifty outweighed the boos but the jeers were very much audible. Smith has played very nicely, keeping it ticking along like Joe Root does for England. Australia's problem is they have too many batsmen who do the same.

There's one or two boos, which is to be expected, but it can't take away from what has been a good innings - and one which resembles the Steve Smith of old.
Aus 171-3
Steve Smith nudges a short delivery from Ben Stokes for a single to third man to bring up his half-century.
There's generous applause as Smith holds up his bat and shakes hands with Usman Khawaja.
I feel like we have been here before...

My issue with this ground is that there's not enough cover for the spectators when it rains, it's hard to get in and out of and it's hidden away from a large population.

This is a stunning ground to look at - I love the fact you can see the treeline all the way around. It's beautiful.
Is Usman Khawaja starting to get going? He is certainly getting the England fielders moving around with a lovely sweep to mid-wicket for two and then a paddle shot over the wicketkeeper's head for three. Eight runs from the over.

It's puzzling trying to work out what Australia are trying to get from this game - to have Shaun Marsh at three and Usman Khawaja at five... it's as though they don't know their best batting order at this late stage.
Here is Ben Stokes again. Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith share singles to bring up the 50 partnership.
No fireworks from Australia yet though. There is definitely an old-school feel about these sedate middle overs.
Decent response from Liam Dawson after conceding that boundary from the first ball, with just four singles from the rest of the over.
