Test Match Special statistician
Since his recall last summer, Shaun Marsh averages 53 in one-day internationals, with four centuries, three half-centuries and a strike-rate of 91.
In his career up to then his strike-rate was 77 with an average of just under 38. So he has improved his scoring rate as the game has evolved.

Moeen corrects his line and Australia return to type at the end of the over.
That got what it deserved. Full and wide from Moeen Ali and Steve Smith slaps his first boundary through the covers.
S Marsh 29, Smith 9
Just two from Liam Plunkett's latest over. Shaun Marsh almost spoons the last delivery to mid-off. England will be pleased with the cricket so far, not so much the injury issues.

Jofra Archer is back fielding for England at long on and is ignoring the cries of a small group of Australia fans trying to get his attention. He learns quickly.
Australia bring up their hundred in the 20th over. England achieved that total in half the time last week against Pakistan at Headingley, albeit on a better pitch.
It's an interesting balance today between giving batsman time at the crease and winning the game.

It is a sedate start from Australia. It feels very much like an old-fashioned game. They should post 280-300 fairly easily, but it just seems there isn't very much urgency.
S Marsh 24, Smith 7
Shaun Marsh continues to just plod along. He has 24 from 35 balls. England won't mind if he bats like this in a World Cup game.
I don't know if it's just me scrutinising everything now but Jofra Archer grimaced there when fielding the ball.
Jason Roy is crouched down and is rubbing his forearm furiously as Liam Plunkett starts his latest over. It looks like it might just be a painful blow that'll bruise but nothing worse.

Ben Lovett: Paul Collingwood and this England shirt is the mash up we never knew we needed until now.
Jason Roy is now holding his arm after he stops the ball at mid-wicket. The check for injuries is more nerve-wracking than an a World Cup final.
This is starting to become a bit silly.

Mark Wood felt some discomfort in his left foot. He’s being assessed at the moment before a decision is taken about whether he will return to the match.
We have news on Mark Wood who left the field after pulling-up in his bowling run-up earlier...

Jonny Bairstow and David Warner were hugging each other after big opening partnerships together in IPL just a few weeks ago. Now Bairstow is celebrating Warner's wicket.
Steve Smith gets off the mark first ball with a push for two. He hasn't made his technique any more conventional in his... err... 'time away'.

And more boos, perhaps not quite as loud, for Steve Smith now. A few chants of “cheat, cheat, cheat”, answered by a lone Australian shouting, “Get em Stevey!”
And now Australia's former captain Steve Smith is booed to the crease...

A huge roar for the catch. A pause. And then boos started to guide David Warner from the field.
Warner c Bairstow b Plunkett 43 (Aus 82-2)
Gone!
David Warner goes for another big shot but skies Liam Plunkett into the leg-side. Jonny Bairstow jogs around and takes a good high catch and then runs with his arm outstretched pointing to the crowd to celebrate.
Warner is booed from the field.
Big mix-up!
David Warner gives up with Liam Dawson having three stumps to aim at from only 15 yards away but he misses all three.
Dawson holds his hands up to apologise. That should have been out.
