Mehidi again, from round the wicket, Roy shapes up for the big one but this time does not get it out of the middle of the blade and it brings him only a single.

Fair play to this Bangladesh fan for bringing his own tambourine and joining in. He'd probably take his own guitar to a Rolling Stones gig and try to get on stage.
Run-rate 6.5
Joe Root is England's lynchpin at number three and fresh from his fifty and century in the first two matches. He is safely off the mark first ball with a calmly played single.

That was a classic into wind dismissal. Mortaza was almost struggling to reach crease but Bairstow was too early on the ball and chipped up a catch.
As Jonny departs, let's enjoy one of the six boundaries he hit today.
Bairstow c Mehidi b Mortaza 51 (Eng 128-1)
This time the leading edge is taken, superbly caught diving forward.

It has been a very nice knock from Jonny Bairstow. He has played second fiddle to Jason Roy but has batted very sensibly.
Mehidy again after the drinks break and fifty for Jonny from 48 balls, clipping it away for two. It was a tricky start for England but they have consolidated superbly. Roy records his 10th boundary with a scything cut, fielding not of the highest order but it would have been travelling at a fair old rate of knots.

We should rename Roy and Bairstow 'Shock and Awe' - once they get in, they are devastating and can take the game away from any side in world cricket.

This is quite remarkable cricket from Bangladesh. Rather than throw the ball in from the boundary, long-on has just tossed the ball to mid-off so England have run again. That is genius!
Roy 69, Bairstow 48
A few clouds bubbly up over Bill's mum's as Mortaza returns and experiments from round the wicket but Bairstow hooks the 35-year-old away expertly for his sixth boundary, before collecting a bonus run from the final ball of the over courtesy of Bangladesh choosing to shine the ball rather than throw it in to the keeper.
Jonny has found his touch too and let's see how he brought up the England 100.

Martin Whitchurch: I played a game using an empty Pringles jar for a bat and a scotch egg for a ball after England v England at the Ageas Bowl last year!
Some difficult moments for Roy early on but he is soon into his customary sweet-striking mode as we can see from this clip.
Run-rate 6.58
More spin in the slender form of Mehidy Hasan - who has 32 wickets from his 31 matches - and it's a very tidy opening over, with only two singles conceded.

Jason Roy was committed to the two, he knew he had hit it to the long boundary, but Jonny Bairstow ran like a schoolboy. If the throw had have been to the right end then Bairstow would have been no more.
