That is poor. At this level you have to be stopping that and helping the bowler out. He just got himself in a poor position.

Up and over from James Vince, camping on the back foot and driving Dawlat Zadran back over his head for four.
Yet another fumble in the field! Vince drives and the ball bounces in front of the fielder at cover, who misses the ball and allows them to scamper through for a couple.

With the kind of attack Afghanistan have, you have just got to wait - you can get on top of them.
Jonny Bairstow eyes up a pull to Mujeeb's latest delivery but changes his mind at the last second, and the wicketkeeper flaps at the ball before finally getting hold of it on the third attempt. Still, tidy enough from the off-spinner, conceding just a wide.
I mean, just look at it. So nice.

Am I the only one who thinks Afghanistan's kit has a strong resemblance to Mario?
Steffan Trousers, Knaresborough
Not sure about the Afghanistan kit. It feels like I'm watching 11 Spider-Mans.
Dave Rudd in Buntingford
Oh, James Vince!
A bit of width from Dawlat and Vince clobbers him back down the ground for four. Sometimes all I want to do is watch Vince bat.
A one-handed pull from Jonny Bairstow should be stopped at mid-wicket - oh, but that's a dreadful attempt from Najibullah, jumping over the ball and letting it go speeding away for four instead.
It's, er, not been great in the field thus far.

If I was Liam Dawson, I'd feel very disappointed that I wasn't playing on this pitch - perfect time to rest players and let him get an appearance under his belt.
Tom in Chilworth
That's more like it!
It's tossed up by Majeeb and Jonny Bairstow meets it with a belting drive, forcing the ball through the man at extra cover and away for four. Lovely stuff.

England are just having a look at the moment.
It's all rather sedate at Old Trafford. There's not a lot of noise from the crowd, although that might be because my eardrums are still recovering from India v Pakistan on Sunday. Astonishing noise levels.
A touch too short from Dawlat, but neither Vince or Bairstow time their strokes well enough to find the ropes.

I don't think the standard of fielding in this World Cup has been great. The ground fielding has been poor.

Another horrible piece of fielding. That was really poor. They come back for three - it should have been one.
Jonny Bairstow isn't really reading Mujeeb Ur Rahman but a dreadful dive by the skipper at cover ends up palming the ball away, and Bairstow is speedy enough to come through for three runs.

Aidan Watson: Anyone else surprised Mark Wood's ankle wasn't rested for this one? Plunkett or Curran could have done a great job instead...
Whoops. A stumble from Asghar Afghan at mid-on allows James Vince to steal a single.

It looks like such an even bounce. There's no swing. Get the spinners on.
Shot!
Hello, James Vince. It's short from Dawlat, sitting up nicely, and Vince crunches a pull away to the boundary.
And with the other new ball, it'll be Dawlat Zadran.
