Outside Old Trafford a tout has a stacked pile of tickets in his hands. "Anyone want gold tickets? Best seats?" He might struggle to offload them. The ground is barely half full.
Straight and patted back to the bowler by James Vince.
We're off!
Here we go...

Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special
If I was Afghanistan I would bowl 45 overs of spin.
Jonny Bairstow and Rashid Khan, IPL teammates, fist bump one another and have a little chat at the non striker's end while James Vince prepares to face the first ball.
It'll be off-spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman to open the bowling for Afghanistan.
Afghanistan huddle one last time before heading out onto the field.
Jonny Bairstow skips onto the pitch while James Vince wanders behind him, going through his routines before swinging his bat around to loosen up.

Stuart Mitchell: On any other surface I'd back England 100% on this one which looks a little used its maybe 80/20 to England. Need a good total first up then hopefully Rashid can get some wickets and confidence, 300 would probably be enough given how shot the Afghan batsman are.
Honestly, Mark Wood's columns are fast becoming the highlight of my week.
"In my last column, I revealed all about my trip to Harry Potter World.
"As a result, when I was fielding on the boundary in our game against Bangladesh, some fans were shouting "Woody, what's it like being in Gryffindor?"
"I gave them a wave of an imaginary wand as a response - it was good banter."
Afghanistan captain Gulbadin Naib: "We are looking for the spin, every game.
"If the wicket is like the one India and Pakistan played on, which slightly turned, with this kind of turn maybe every team is in trouble against Afghanistan."
The players are coming out for the anthems.
Eoin Morgan always makes a fuss of his mascot when he walks out with them; he always bends down to have a chat with them and see how they are. It's really sweet.

Injured England opener Jason Roy, speaking to Sky Sports, on his possible comeback: "We're targeting Australia but we'll see how this week goes. If this week goes to plan, then Australia. If not, then who knows. Hamstrings are such a grey area."

On a used surface, England may have opted for two spinners anyway, but Liam Plunkett might not be 100% right.
England opener Jason Roy, speaking on Sky Sports, on the hamstring injury which will keep him out of two matches: "I did it in West Indies and it was a lot worse. It could be way worse - the scan told me it's minimum 10 days. We've got to assess it as we go along.
"It's a huge understatement being frustrated, but I've got to keep smiling."
How many people do you need on the outfield at any one time?
Gulbadin Naib says he would have had a bat first as well, and he describes the wicket as "Asian condition wicket".
Afghanistan have made three changes from their defeat by South Africa. Mujeeb, Dawlat Zadran and Najibullah Zadran all come in to the side.
Liam Plunkett was unwell the other day, but Morgan said at the toss that the decision to leave him out and bring Moeen in was for the balance of the side.
