10 overs gone. Afghanistan are behind the required rate but they won't be too upset with their start. They're still in the game.

Hardik Pandya is on for a bowl now. Afghanistan have seen off Jasprit Bumrah's first spell.

Hmmm. Pandya has bowled better balls. Ms Dhoni wouldn't have stopped this even if he was on Kohli's shoulders behind the stumps.

    Five wides.

    Three dots from the over.

Away from the cricket, I've received a worrying text from my girlfriend. She has decided to paint our spare room yellow.

I'm not convinced. What do you reckon? Thumbs up for 'it's nice' or thumbs down for 'repaint it white on Monday'.

It has been careful so far but with positive foot movement. Three singles to Afghanistan.

How will Afghanistan go here? Will they play safe and knock it around, or will they take on the spinners early?

Here's spin for the first time. Yuzvendra Chahal is on.

This'll be a big test, judging by how the Afghan spinners bowled.

India have bowled nicely, and Afghanistan have not known whether to stick or twist.

  10. Afg 26-1published at 8 overs

    Target 225

Three runs to Afghanistan skipper Gulbadin of his pads. That's a better over for them.

Afghanistan are only going at 3.19 an over but the good thing about chasing a low total is the required rate hasn't jumped too much.

It's at 4.73 currently. The runs required are below 200.

Maybe Kohli was a little rattled that this one didn't go his way earlier?

Kohli celebration was quite something after that wicket. He needs to be careful his shoulder doesn't come out of its socket punching the air like that. He roared too.

    Rahmat is off the mark.

  14. Afg 20-1published at 6.5 overs

This is testing stuff for Rahmat. Two deliveries from Shami zip beyond him.

Not a brilliant innings from Hazratullah, and good bowling by Shami. That ball was not quite full enough to pull.

    Hazratullah b Shami 10 (Afg 20-1)

    Well that was utterly predictable.

Hazratullah had looked like someone who had just received his first bat for Christmas and now he is out in hideous fashion.

He plays a hoik across the line to Shami and has his stumps clattered. The opener has thrown his wicket away.

It's not been overly convincing. Hazratullah has played and missed, it's been tough going and a lot of balls have beaten the bat. The bowlers have worked hard, but so far are without fruit for their labour.

  19. Afg 20-0published at 6.2 overs

Who was that? Someone is having to face the wrath of Virat Kohli after allowing Afghanistan to get a two.

I think it was Yuzvendra Chahal.

    Kohli stands motionless and stares.

He was done all ends up by the short ball, but left the bat up there. Bumrah couldn't quite stretch to it, and after all that it's a dot ball.
