India will surely be eyeing big runs today against the bowling attack that conceded 397 runs against England.

England hit a record 25 sixes that day, 17 of them by Eoin Morgan.

Will we see similar things today?

Afghanistan captain Gulbadin Naib: "It doesn't matter if we win the toss or lose, it is a long day. I am happy with batting [against England]. It is a good thing we played out 50 overs."

India captain Virat Kohli: "It looks like a really good wicket - nice and hard. It's a beautiful day to play cricket so let's try and score lots of runs. Our mindset is always the same, regardless of the opposition. We can't take a side like Afghanistan lightly. We'll have to be on our A game and put in another precise performance."

India make just one change. Bowler Mohammed Shami replaces the injured Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

    That's not a bad replacement.

Afghanistan make a couple of changes. Full teams to come...

I've seen India rated as 1/40 with bookmakers today.

They are massive favourites for this one.

There won't be any problems with the weather today. It's a lovely day.

    Here comes the toss...

But India's minor issues are nothing compared to Afghanistan's problems.

They have lost all five of their games so far - including that thumping defeat to England at Old Trafford.

There is also unrest in the camp. Coach Phil Simmons hit out at former selector Dawlat Ahmadzai after criticism of the team's coaching staff.

Simmons responded by saying he will "tell the Afghanistan people about the part that Mr Dawlat Ahmadzai had to play in our preparation and his part in the dismissal Asghar Afghan", the former captain who was removed from his position on the eve of the tournament.

Can the team put all that behind them today?

India will be looking continue their unbeaten start today in Southampton against Afghanistan who have struggled so far.

India have looked very good so far. They have won three games with their other washed out.

They have a couple of issues though. Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the tournament with injury. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is injured too.

Will Dhawan's replacement Rishabh Pant come straight into the team? Will India rotate their team against Afghanistan who are still without a win?

So what does yesterday's defeat mean for England's chances?

It was their second loss of the tournament but it does not mean the end of their hopes.

Eoin Morgan's side remain third in the group stage table but have arguably their three hardest games to play - Australia, India and New Zealand.

Win all three and they'll definitely qualify for the semi-finals. Win two and they probably will. One win could also be enough.

Yesterday this World Cup was brought to life by its first real shock as England were beaten by Sri Lanka.

That result has made the race for the top four more far more interesting and we have two more games coming up today.

First unbeaten India play Afghanistan at Southampton and later on West Indies play New Zealand at Old Trafford.

It should be another belting day...
