  1. Afg 5-0published at 1.3 overs

MS Dhoni didn't have the best of days with the bat and now he concedes four byes. In fairness this ball has died on him from Jasprit Bumrah but he'd have liked to have stopped it nonetheless.

Afghanistan have their first boundary although it's not off the bat.

If Afghanistan bat the majority of the 50 overs, they should win. They have the opportunity to be heroes here.

    Target 225

That's a good start from Shami. A single from the final ball is the only run. Shami beat the edge again earlier.

Will Afghanistan get nervous if they do get close? Would this be the biggest shock in cricketing history if they do pull it off? Alec Stewart suggested so earlier.

  6. Afg 0-0published at 0.1 overs

That's a nervy start from Afghanistan opener Hazratullah Zazai. He pokes at a wide ball and it goes past his edge.

Virat is hopping around like a cat on a hot tin roof at slip and throws his arms in the air.

India have limped their way to 224, and Afghanistan won't have a better chance to beat them.

    Target 225

India struggled to get Afghanistan's spinners away but Virat Kohli is sticking with his quicks to start. Mohammed Shami will start us off.

So Afghanistan need 225 to win at a run-rate of 4.50.

They scored 247 against England last time out.

    Here come the players.

India only managed 49 runs from the last 10 overs. The innings fizzled out when they lost two wickets in the final over.

Kedar Jadhav did make a fifty but his strike rate was only 76.47.

Hardik Pandya came in in the closing stages but couldn't boost India's score.

With Dhoni at the crease India would have still fancied a score of over 250 but he fell for 28 from 52 balls.

Those quick wickets brought Kedar Jadhav and MS Dhoni to the crease and they played a peculiar partnership.

Was it the pitch? Did they just not show enough intent?

They added 57 runs from it took them 84 balls.

    These were some rare boundaries...

Shankar was out for 29, however, and then came the big wicket.

Virat Kohli cut to gully for 67.

But Virat Kohli and Vijay Shankar batted as we expected.

Kohli scored yet another half-century. He was his typical self and was the only player to make batting look easy.

India lost star opener Rohit Sharma after 4.2 overs. He fell to the immaculate Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

India were 7-1 when Rohit was out...

KL Rahul stuck around for a bit longer, making it to 30, but both India's openers were out inside 15 overs.

After a slow start, India were 64-2 in the 15th.

It's a difficult pitch to bat on - the ball just isn't coming on to the bat.

    Thanks Tim.

Well, well. We didn't see that coming. India have only made 224-8 from their 50 overs against Afghanistan.

There was a lot more of this than we were expecting...

And a lot less of this...
