    Dhoni 5, Jadhav 6

Jadhav shows some aggression with a cut towards the point boundary, and he's already overtaken Dhoni.

There's a touch of John Emburey about Mohammad Nabi's bowling, and he concedes four of another good over.

At the other end, here comes Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who's had six overs so far.

There is still the small matter of Rashid Khan bowling at the India tail if Afghanistan can take a couple more wickets.

  6. Ind 137-4published at 31 overs

    Dhoni 4, Jadhav 1

Kedar Jadhav comes to the crease, and immediately takes a single. This could get very interesting from here...

    Kohli c Rahmat b Nabi 67 (Ind 135-4)

    Gone!

Virat Kohli rocks back to cut Nabi, but the ball loops up and Rahmat takes an excellent catch diving forward at a short-ish third man!

It's gone very quiet in Southampton...

    Quite.

  11. Ind 133-3published at 30 overs

    Kohli 66, Dhoni 3

Dhoni is still looking for fluency, and Kohli expertly takes a single off the last ball with a cut to point to keep the strike and maybe keep things going.

It has been good bowling for a start. The ball is coming on OK but as Afghanistan are taking the pace off and not every ball has spun, you just have to get used to that.

David Langley: Rashid Khan having an average World Cup. Think quality batsman have unpicked the variations and seem to be playing him a bit like a medium pacer, just like they did with Ajantha Mendis after about 4/5 years back!

India are not going to be satisfied with 260. They will want to get over 300.

  15. Ind 128-3published at 29 overs

    Kohli 62, Dhoni 2

It's a sluggish start from MS Dhoni - or is he just playing himself in? There's just three off that over from Nabi as Kohli continues to look like he's playing a different game to everyone else.

  16. Ind 125-3published at 28 overs

    Kohli 60, Dhoni 1

Just the one single to Kohli off the first ball of the over, then Dhoni can't puncture the field for the rest of the over.

And here comes Mohammad Nabi to replace Rahmat Shah at the other end.

  17. Ind 124-3published at 27 overs

    Kohli 59, Dhoni 1

Dhoni nurdles one to get off the mark quickly, and we still have both batsman in caps rather than helmets - always nice to see.
