    Thank you, Matt!

Shankar and Kohli trade singles to keep the score ticking over until the India captain hoiks a leg side long hop around the corner to the boundary off the last ball of the over.

  3. Ind 115-2published at 25 overs

Vjay Shankar steals the strike at the end of the over. I wouldn't dare do that with Virat at the other end.

We're at the halfway stage and India are well set. Tim Oscroft will take you through the rest of the innings.

  4. Ind 114-2published at 24.3 overs

Shot! Vijay Shankar opens up his arms and crunches off-spinner Rahmat Shah over extra cover for four. That's really, really good batting.

The India flags wave again in the stand.

It's almost like India play old-fashioned 50 over cricket for the first 10 overs, but then they really express themselves.

Love that. Some World Cup stars of the future hopefully!

Rashid Khan is energetically bounding into the crease and throws his hand onto his head when he thinks he has a chance for lbw but India are playing him well. Big Vijay Shankar gets another big stride in to smother any spin.

    Dear TMS,

We are looking forward to listening to the England-Australia match from here in Ulaanbaatar. We have received much help from both big cricket brothers to start the game in Mongolia in the schools.

The kids love the game and we will ask to join ICC soon so hopefully one day we can play in Cricket World Cup like Afghanistan!

PS this is a photo from Saturday when a new school team from Bayankhongor province, north west Gobi Desert, came to play on our ground in Ulaanbaatar for first time. Our coach Davaa is in middle of two captains.

Vijay Shankar times the ball beautifully. He is going under the radar with Kohli at the other end but contributing well to this partnership which is now worth 41.

Here are a couple of highlights from Kohli's half-century.

  10. Ind 102-2published at 22.1 overs

The India hundred is up after Vijay Shankar drives Rahmat Shah through the covers for four. There's more poor fielding on the boundary rope.

I don't think I made 93 scores over 50 against my little brother in the back garden. The man is a freak.

  12. Ind 98-2published at 22 overs

    Kohli 50, Shankar 13

Just the 93 scores of 50 and above for Kohli now in ODI cricket. Incredible.

Virat turns his collar up and drives a single down the ground.

That brings up his half-century and he calmly points his bat towards the dressing room.

    He's the man.

    Kohli 47, Shankar 10

The ground has filled up nicely now. There aren't too many empty seats. Those that are in attendance are witnessing Virat Kohli look utterly composed. Is it too early to say he looks nailed on for a century?

The process of Afghanistan going for reviews needs reviewing, as it were, because it has not been good!

Still, it was a decent comeback from Rashid Khan after that boundary by Virat Kohli. There is a bit of spin for Afghanistan's dangerman too.

That's a huge inside edge! It smashed into the inside edge - a bit of inexperience from Afghanistan.

Not great from Afghanistan. I saw that inside edge on the TV. Surely someone must have seen it?

He's smashed it. This is a terrible review.

Has Vijay Shankar hit this? I thought so but if he hasn't it's close for lbw.

The umpire said no but Afghanistan review.
