My initial reaction was it was going down the leg side.

If Afghanistan can break this partnership then there isn't a lot to come.

Anand: Pathetic batting display for a side that aspires to win World Cup.

  9. Ind 205-5published at 46 overs

    Jadhav 43, Pandya 1

Jadhav has to get on with it now, and he flicks a poor leg-side long hop down wide of the keeper's left hand for four.

And then we see the finally first six of the day when Jadhav drives the fifth delivery over long on just over Rashid Khan right on the boundary edge.

Sho: This is a weird weird performance from India so far. Still think they'll win because they'll get past 200 and Afghanistan can't really bat. But it's just very odd batting.

  11. Ind 194-5published at 45 overs

    Jadhav 32, Pandya 1

Hardik Pandya walks out to a subdued atmosphere, and he grabs a single straight away.

This has been unbelievable. I have been really impressed firstly with Afghanistan's captain and then with the bowling, particularly the spinners.

Rashid Khan might have got the wicket but a lot of credit should go to Mujeeb for the brilliant over before. That is where the pressure built.

Even though Pandya can change the game in a brink of an eye, the fact Dhoni is out is massive.

Both Rashid Khan and Mujeeb have created their careers on T20 cricket. Now they are playing 50-over cricket and it is a completely different ball game. They have been hit in previous games but are now fighting back.

  16. Ind 192-4published at 44 overs

    Dhoni 27, Jadhav 31

Mujeeb ends a superb spell with another tight over, finishing with 1-26 off his 10 overs.

    This is gripping stuff.

Dowlass: Afghanistan looking an interesting side, obviously in development but signs of a real force in the making.

  18. Ind 190-4published at 43 overs

    Dhoni 27, Jadhav 30

Second ball in and Alam drops short, Jadhav having plenty of time to hook the ball high for four behind square leg.

Dhoni then drops to one knee off the fifth delivery, smashing the ball high over mid off for another four.

The spinners have been strangling things, but that return of pace has relieved the pressure a bit with 12 off the over.

  19. Ind 181-4published at 42.1 overs

    Dhoni 23, Jadhav 25

Seamer Aftab Alam returns after a long break - he bowled four overs at the top of the innings.
