Ind 64-1published at 14 overs
Gulbadin continues to plug away but his late-70s mph bowling doesn't look like it's concerning Rahul or Kohli. He's not helped by some more loose fielding, either. Mohammad Nabi this time is to blame.

This is the first 50 partnership between Kohli and Rahul in ODIs, having failed to register more than 24 in their six previous stands together.

The spin of Nabi, Rashid and Mujeeb will be key for Afghanistan - if they can restrict India to anything around 300, they will be very happy with that.
The experienced off-spinner Mohammad Nabi is on for his first bowl.
Virat Kohli has 30 from 22 balls already. He makes batting look so easy. I doubt it's easy for his batting partner, however. Kohli demands a lot when running between the wickets. He sprints full pelt after a push into the leg-side and looks disappointed that they can't make it into two.
Kohli has posted back-to-back half-centuries - he failed to get more than 20 in the three knocks beforehand in ODI cricket.
After a slow start, India have upped the scoring rate...
Rahul 24, Kohli 29
It's hardwork being a committed India fan. You need a replica shirt, face paint, a drum, a whistle and there are even some Virat Kohli face masks in the crowd. Expensive too, I bet.
This is like a home game for them today.
We haven't seen much of it so far but there's a bad mistake from Afghanistan in the field. The wicketkeeper fails to collect a throw from the deep and there is no one backing up. Kohli is alert and steals a single.

Jack: Great start from Afghanistan (Mujeeb in particular). I sense more of a one ball at a time mindset from then today. However, I'd like to have seen spin from both ends instead of Gulbadin on.
Rahul 22, Kohli 26
Mujeeb has been immaculate so far but this time he drifts down leg and Virat Kohli flicks the ball away and it reaches the fine-leg boundary. There was no chance of stopping that.
Once again the runs are cheered wildly.

There's been a few loose drives, but Rahul is an extravagant player and plays with a great amount of confidence.
Rahul 20, Kohli 20
Kl Rahul is getting a little frustrated by the fact he is picking out the fielders. He shrugs and lets his head rock back when a well-hit drive is stopped. The right-hander then follows that with a loose drive that is missed. Not the best.
India end the first powerplay with 41 runs.
India's opening powerplay scores before today - 34, 41 & 53. The highest of the tournament is SL's 87 v Aus.
Afghanistan skipper Gulbadin Naib has brought himself on for a bowl.
The seamer's first delivery is driven by Kohli. It would have been four again but a hand in the off-side ring takes the pace off the ball and keeps it to three.

From up here it looks like a dry pitch, while at the start of the tournament there was a bit of grass around.
Run-rate 4.00
Only two singles from Mujeeb's over. KL Rahul still doesn't look at ease against his variations.

Wayne Ellis: Think India are comfortably the best all-round team in this World Cup. Certainly wouldn’t see them slip up against one of the also-rans...
I'd be getting Rashid Khan on early while Virat Kohli is still getting in.
Mujeeb is keeping things much tighter than the seamer.
There'll be no big score of Rohit Sharma today. He was bowled by the impressive Mujeeb early on...

That's the sign of a class player - you don't see the fielder, you see the gaps. Excellent start from Kohli.
