Nabi is key here. He is the man of T20 cricket and has played in high pressurised matches. He has played great innings in these situations for Melbourne Renegades and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

And then Nabi backs up his impressive figures with a subtle sweep off Chahal that goes for four.

Afghanistan do still have batting left as the ODI averages of these two, plus the men due in next show...

    Asghar Afghan: 23.84

    Mohammad Nabi: 27.96

    Najibullah Zadran: 30.06

    Rashid Khan: 21.75

  4. Afg 121-4published at 33 overs

    Target 225

Steady stuff to begin with from Yuzvendra Chahal, but then Mohammad Nabi cuts the last one of the over past point and to the boundary.

    Five off the over.

Kohli is angry that Shankar has not run in for that and quite right too. It was his catch. He did not commit. I would much rather he got there and dropped it instead of not getting there and not having a chance.

  6. Afg 116-4published at 32 overs

    Target 225

Nabi swishes outside off stump, and the ball balloons high into the deep. Three fielders converge, but Vijay Shankar is closest without looking like he'd get anywhere near it.

Kohli and Pandya look a little bit vexed, as my Nan used to say.

You would say it is evenly poised but I would rather be in India's shoes.

Asghar is surprised by a short, fast one from Bumrah, getting into a tangle while trying to pull, but just patting it back to the bowler.

    India are sensing blood here.

Great stuff from Chahal on the fine leg boundary, racing around and rolling over, getting a paw onto it to stop a four being added.

Hashmatullah gets a leading edge and Jasprit Bumrah just gets to it to pull off another great catch, just above his bootlaces.

Double-wicket maiden, and two brand new batters at the crease. Game very much on.

Good bowling. You can only praise the bowling. Bumrah surprised him. It was an excellent catch from Chahal. He seemed to misjudge it but took the catch running in.
