Virat needs to be very careful there. He is showing aggression towards the umpire. Whether it is out or not you have to accept the umpire's decision. That is not good.

    It is the pressure.

    Target 225

Bumrah slams one into Rahmat's pads in front of leg stump, but it is given not out and of course India have no review left.

Replays show it was umpire's call.

I think Shankar just got Virat Kohli's take on the Paddington Bear Very Hard Stare just now.

Hashmatullah top edges a sweep off Kuldeep, but Vijay Shankar daydreams in the deep and they steal two.

Rebecca: This is excellent sport! 400 plays 400 is so boring. This is like a fourth innings run chase in a Test Match. Proper crickiit!

    Spot on!

These are slightly worrying signs for India - the body language and the sloppiness at times in the field.

  7. Afg 104-2published at 27 overs

    Target 225

Rahmat gets a faint top edge, trying to cut Bumrah, but the ball dies and drops just short of MS Dhoni.

Otherwise that's another alarm-free over for Afghanistan.

Sublime stuff from Rahmat as Afghanistan go in search of a huge shock.

Michael Haimes: Pity we can't start the leaderboard from scratch now the games are getting tighter and more tactical. The semi-finalists have all but been decided, rendering this grit and hearty cricket mere consolation.

  10. Afg 98-2published at 26 overs

    Target 225

Worries for Rahmat as he underedges one onto his pads, and then it bounces close to the stumps.

But he makes up for it a ball later, stepping back and pulling a short one from Kuldeep over midwicket for four.

  11. Afg 92-2published at 25.1 overs

    Target 225

Thank you Matt, this really is bubbling up nicely! Run-fests are OK, but give me a low-scoring thriller any time.

An eventful over. Afghanistan's batsmen survive.

They're well in the game. Tim Oscroft will take you through to the climax.

Will we see one of the greatest shocks of all-time? Maybe.

The stumping wasn't out. The foot is behind the line.

India lost their review earlier so they can't review for lbw or caught behind. I think it flicked the pad.

India go up for caught behind and a stumping.

Aleem Dar says not out but we're checking.

  16. Afg 91-2published at 24.3 overs

Four! Hashmatullah beats the infield and the ball trickles away to the backward point boundary. That was very low-key again but that's because there is no hint of celebration from the India supporting crowd.

  17. Afg 87-2published at 24 overs

    Required run-rate 5.30

Like when he was batting, Virat Kohli has his collar turned up at extra cover. Hashmatullah sneaks a single to the India captain's left at the end of the over and Kohli hops and slaps his thigh in frustration.

Don't forget how Afghanistan failed to get over the line against Sri Lanka earlier in the tournament, chasing an even smaller total.

If Afghanistan can get a win today or later in the tournament, it will benefit cricket in the country - and perhaps other sports. The effect shouldn't be underestimated.

  19. Afg 84-2published at 23 overs

    Rahmat 24, Hashmatullah 11

It looks like Afghanistan are going to at least take this close. This little partnership is just edging them towards history.

They will need to be wary of the Bumrah-effect in the latter stages.
