Samiullah Shinwari - making his first appearance of the World Cup - is the new batter.

And he's reverse-sweeping first ball! He picks up a couple.

Afghanistan's hard work is derailing. Shakib is a master. The odd ball will turn but the odd ball will skid on. He is a master of his craft.

I wonder whether that is just about it with the back of Nabi.

    Nabi b Shakib 0 (Afg 104-4)

    Through the gate!

That is a beautiful delivery from Shakib Al Hasan. He gets one to go on with the arm and it goes through bat and pad and smashes into middle stump.

You just can't keep Shakib out of the game. What a tournament he's having.

Good catch, Liton Das. The pressure that was building on the Afghanistan captain by Asghar Afghan's slow strike-rate at the other end has paid dividends.

    Gulbadin c Das b Shakib 47 (Afg 104-3)

You could sense that was coming!

Full from Shakib Al Hasan and Gulbain Naib has a full-blooded drive at it but it goes straight to Liton Das at short extra cover who takes a smart low catch.

That's all come about because of the pressure and the rising run-rate.

You sense that Gulbadin feels the pace bowler is the one to go after.

  8. Afg 104-2published at 28 overs

    Three singles again.

You feel something has got to give soon. Gulbadin Naib is started to get frustrated. He had an almighty swipe that he edged into the on side.

    This is getting messy.

  9. Gulbadin hits one over cover for fourpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 24 June 2019

Afghanistan could do with a few more of these.

  10. Afg 101-2published at 27 overs

Bangladesh have decided to bring a silly point in for Asghar Afghan. Not the worst plan - he seems either block or big shot at the moment.

Maiden for Shakib Al Hasan as Afghan blocks out the first four deliveries before finding fielders with drives off the final two deliveries.

The required run-rate is up above seven for the first time.

The required run-rate is creeping up on a pitch that hasn't been easy to score on. Afghanistan have power in the hutch but they need to get a move on.

  12. Afg 101-2published at 26 overs

Tidy first over from Saifuddin with just three singles added to the total.

Umpire Michael Gough has to show some nifty moves to avoid a punched drive from Gulbadin Naib and Afghanistan scamper through.

The run-rate is constantly creeping up...

Pace bowler Mohammad Saifuddin, who has figures of 0-5 from two overs, is going to replace Mehedi Hasan.

    Thanks Jack.

Who do people fancy from here? Bangladesh look favourites but Afghanistan are giving themselves a sniff. The required run rate is up to 6.60, though.

Right, an intriguing chase in store.

Callum Matthews will take you through to the close of this one.

    Later.

    Target 263

Gulbadin Naib pushes to long off to take the single.

Asghar Afghan gets it into leg side off a thick inside edge and takes a sharp single. He's home.

Shakib has conceded only four runs off three overs now. Afghanistan might want to see him off but they're going to have to start scoring more against the slow left-armer too.

Bangladesh are almost using Shakib like you would use a key seamer - bringing him back for two-over bursts.

    Bowling change for Bangladesh.

    Shakib Al Hasan is back.

    Key moment in the match.

Another good over for Afghanistan - nine from it.

A spell of this and the pressure is back on Bangladesh.
