Two wickets to Sam Robson now and this one is the Big Show of Glenn Maxwell.

Still five to win for the Red Rose...

    Middlesex 265 & 200 v Lancashire 427 & 26-2 (target 39)

Oh dear, Brooke Guest won't want to see that again...

Sam Robson comes on to bowl his part-time spin and second ball forces the right-hander to chop the ball on to his own stumps.

Lancashire lose a second wicket in their small run-chase.

  5. Kent recover after early losspublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 280 (f/o) v Kent 504-9 dec & 40-1 - target 123

Crawley shovels a leg side ball away through mid-wicket for two and the second one is glanced away through square leg for four.

The Bears can't afford to bowl there.

The bowler straightens up and Renshaw defends.

A flashing drive outside off by Renshaw yields four more runs.

The next ball from Sidebottom is pushed out a bit wider and carved through point for four more.

The bowler straightens up for the fifth ball and Renshaw jabs down to defend.

A play and a miss outside off completes the over.

  8. Lancashire edging closerpublished at 16:29 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Middlesex 265 & 200 v Lancashire 427 & 17-1 (target 39)

They're just dealing in singles as they chase the small target of 39 to win.

  9. Kent chasing 123published at 16:28 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 280 (f/o) v Kent 504-9 dec & 25-1 - target 123

Brookes bowls just back of a length and Renshaw jabs to square leg for one.

An ungainly swish by Crawley outside off stump, the ball evading the edge, and the bowler is unimpressed.

Shot! The last ball is driven on the up through mid off for four.

  10. Tension as Kent lose an early wicketpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 280 (f/o) v Kent 504-9 dec & 20-1 - target 123

Brookes rushes Renshaw through a defensive jab before straying slightly to leg with his sixth ball, tapped away to mid-wicket for one.

Renshaw takes a single off the second ball the next over, bowled by Sidebottom, who gets Crawley to play and miss outside off stump.

But his fifth ball is short and pulled through square leg for four.

Two more runs come off the sixth ball.

  11. wicket

WICKET Jacks c Westley b Harmer 54published at 16:22 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Surrey 395 & 296-6 v Essex 448

Crash! Bang! and out for Will Jacks.

The Surrey batsman has some fun clearing the ropes to reach his second half-century of the match off just 89 balls with six fours and two sixes.

Tries to go for another big one, but only finds Tom Westley on the long-on boundary.

Surrey bat on though for now with their lead at 243.

  12. Brookes strikes early for the Bearspublished at 16:17 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 280 v Kent 504-9 dec & 11-1 - target 123

Matt Renshaw is the new batsman at the non-striker's end.

Sidebottom over-pitches and Crawley drives down the ground for four.

He gets a single off the fourth.

Renshaw plays and misses but the ball just evades an inside edge en route to the keeper.

    And... breathe.

  13. wicket

WICKET Jennings c sub b Murtagh 8published at 16:16 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Middlesex 265 & 200 v Lancashire 427 & 12-1 (target 39)

Oh well, not what Keaton Jennings will have wanted from this opportunity.

He falls for just 8 as he mistimes a pull shot off Tim Murtagh down to long leg where sub fielder Ethan Bamber takes the catch.

Small victory for Middlesex as they deny their visitors a 10-wicket win.

  14. Jennings cuts loose!published at 16:14 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Middlesex 265 & 200 v Lancashire 427 & 12-0 (target 39)

    Crunch!

Keaton Jennings pulls Tim Murtagh for four and Lancashire in to double figures.

Just 27 more needed to win.

  15. wicket

WICKET Dickson lbw b Brookespublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 280 (f/o) v Kent 504-9 dec & 6-1 - target 123

The batsmen score a single apiece in the first two balls of Sidebottom's over and the next four balls are left alone.

Henry Brookes drifts to leg with his third ball and Sean Dickson punches it through long on for four.

Out! That's a much straighter ball. Dickson plays across the line and that's an easy decision for the umpire.

We may yet have a contest on our hands here...

  16. Surrey bat onpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Surrey 395 & 282-5 v Essex 448

No declaration from Surrey then at tea. They still want some more batting practice.

Will Jacks decides it's time to get out his nine iron and loft Simon Harmer back over his head for a straight six!

    Middlesex 265 & 200 v Lancashire 427 & 4-0 (target 39)

Patient start by Keaton Jennings and Haseeb Hameed for Lancashire with few alarms as they chase the small target of just 39.

  18. Final session begins at Edgbastonpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Warwks 346 & 280 (f/o) v Kent 504-9 dec & 0-0 - target 123

So there you have it. 31 overs remaining in the day's play.

A Kent win is the most likely outcome but this has been a brave resurrection of the game after an 18th first class century from Tim Ambrose and a career-best 84 from Henry Brookes.

Sean Dickson and Zak Crawley to begin the run chase.

    Ryan Sidebottom to bowl.

  19. Kent in the box seat at Edgbastonpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

One more session remains of what has been a brilliant game of cricket here at Edgbaston.

Earlier in the day, Kent looked as if victory was going to be theirs at a canter, but then came an extraordinary stand of 154 for the eighth wicket between Tim Ambrose and Henry Brookes.

With time starting to run out and the draw looking likely, Milnes removed the belligerent Ambrose for 107 and took the final wicket of Brookes for 84, as Harry Podmore completed his five wicket haul in between.

Kent now require 123 runs in 31 overs to collect their first Division One win in the County Championship since 2010.

  20. Lancashire need 39 to winpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 14 April 2019

    Middlesex 265 & 200 v Lancashire 427 & 0-0

Here we go then at Lord's...

Middlesex's rather rapid second-innings collapse of 4-13 means Lancashire need just 39 to win.

Here come their openers Keaton Jennings and Haseeb Hameed...
